What the Hell are you talking about? I basically have every major PS3 exclusive on my old account and Killzone Shadow Fall for PS4. What other retail exclusive should I have on PS4 right now? I'm not buying Knack. You cannot say I don't buy exclusives after I looking at my profiles. I bought Killzone Shadow Fall, NBA 2K14, Assassin's Creed Black Flag, Battlefield 4, COD: Ghosts and Madden 25 retail. Contrast, Resogun and Don't Starve through PS Plus. Sold COD: Ghosts and Madden before I opened them, but those still count as purchases. You can see the first 4 retail games and Resogun on my trophy list. I also have Beyond Two Souls, Rain and Puppeteer in my backlog. Anyway I am done with this. Regardless of whether you play more games than me(who cares) you cannot say I am a "cow" that doesn't buy games/exclusives which was the point of this extremely silly exchange.

Forza 5 is doing well world wide, it manage to sell around 400k copies WORLD WIDE. It Flop bad in the USA though. Sold around like 100k. Even GTA 6 sold much better than it.

sigh, well hopefully this will kick Sony and PD into changing priorities with the next title. It's sad really, because GT6 is far superior to GT5.

But the lack of sales can mostly be put down to:

- PS4 arriving a month before hand, a lot of people will have just bought a PS4 and won't want to spend more money on a PS3 game

- complete and utter lack of advertising, I saw sod all about GT6, if I wasn't a hardcore gamer, I probably wouldn't even know it existed

- after the disappointing GT5, fans are probably (overly) cautious about buying GT6

All those added up, it's not a surprise the sales are bombing for it. We shall see how well it does Worldwide after a good amount of time.

Not release it on the next gen console.

Huge Gran Turismo fan and I couldn't be bothered to play GT6 for more than a couple of days. While I really like the new tracks, I think I'm getting burned out on the series (much like Grand Theft Auto).

The BIG racing game fans I know usually prefer Forza ever so slightly, but most buy both. I have played the genre sparingly. Doesn't surprise me though.

its a good game, stronger than 5 was in many ways although a few poor decisions here and there by poly make those points moot.

im enjoying it and we got the FT-1 the other day, im fairly enjoying driving it around trial mountain and oh, dihatsu midget racing online is one of the funniest things ever its turned into how many silly colours can you paint the midget.

gt6 didn't fail because the ps4 came out, gt6 failed because people played gt5 and know better than to piss away $60 on a substandard race game.

That's unfortunate, it's a really good game and much better than GT5.

I like how the OP fails to mention the source of this article is VGChartz lol. It's gonna be hilarious when the real numbers come out and all these lems projecting the death of GT find out it destroyed Forza in sales yet again.

@timbers_WSU: It would have certainly helped the PS4 lineup if it was a launch title. Right now racing sim fans have only one place to go if they want to dabble in next gen. It's also interesting that the PS4's flagship launch title was an FPS, a genre mostly known to be on the 360, while MS did not have any exclusive fps titles at launch for XboxOne.

That being said, Forza 5 runs on online dedicated servers, and it definitely shows playing online, so even if GT6 would have launched with the PS4, it wouldn't have been able to compete with Forza 5 anyways, at least where online is concerned.

It was actually kind of dumb to release Killzone as a launch title. There was no way it was gonna compete with COD and Battlefield. Online is already starting to suffer with a lack of players.
Forza 5 IMO is a disappointment. The mechanics are great (best sim racer on consoles) and the trigger rumble and drivatars are awesome. But man the game needs new tracks something bad. This could of been Polyphony's chance to close the gap and they didn't show up. But I also wonder if they are gonna half-ass the PS4 version like they did GT5?

Production rate for PS4 is around maximum and it sold about 4.1 million units for 1.5 months. At this rate, it would take about 2.1 years for PS4 to reach 70 million mark. PS4 has the potential to exceed Wii's or PS2's install base.

That $60 may have been rellocated for PS4's purchase i.e. 4.1 million unit sales after 1.5 months.

Personally, I rather rellocated that $60 for $399 PS4 (plus it's bundled games).

You say the game has solid driving physics though playing the game at an "expo", but then go on to say you don't care about driving games. See the later tells me if you don't care about the genre, then how do you know the physics are solid?

My point is, if you don't play racing games then how can you tell the difference of the physics of the on power push of a front wheel drive car VS the snap oversteer of a rear wheel drive car or the difference of turn in characteristics of a mid engine platform VS Rear/Front end platform.

As in, it had the basics of serious racing physics of Gran Turismo - following the line etc (played GT6 at the same expo too, I sucked at it, too casual :( ) while at the same time not being as arcadey as something like Need For Speed: Most Wanted (thrashed it for a couple of days from PS+, got bored of the repetitiveness of it and ditched it). Do you see what I mean?

I have to disagree with this. I think they should have skipped this and just went ahead with the next gen version.

The entire game seems stripped down. I actually loved the A & B spec modes in the last game. There was a far better profile system for your driver and you could compare what you did with your friends. You could even gift cars to people. Aside from the barebones multiplayer, there is almost no interaction with other people in the single player, unlike the first game. It's like the entire last gen of multiplayer interaction never happened.

I'm having fun with it but not as much fun as I had with GT5. There is still too much UI in the way of doing stuff but Japanese developers love their menus I guess.

All of the bitching about the microtransactions is kind of dumb though. My fears of the grinding to make people buy credits was pretty much stomped on when I made almost 3 million credits in my first day of racing (Seasonal events FTW). If you log into the game everyday you can get your bonus up to 200 percent, which effectively doubles your credits per race.It's all handled pretty well I think. You are never prompted to buy anything.

It's a good GT but really disappointing given how much they improved GT5 after it's launch. GT6 feels like a step back in almost every way except for the driving which is superb. (Still with the bumper car AI though).

It's because Sony has given up on marketing their games. They never make commercials any more. I can't think of a single ad for GT6. Most of those old GT fans probably don't even know the damn game is out already.

Can you really blame them? They were too busy hyping PS4 launch. In any case, most of my GT buddies didn't want this game because they were saving up for PS4. Many of them were asking why this wasn't a PS4 launch title. I think Sony dropped the ball by releasing it right at PS4's launch, most people didn't know it even came out and the ones that did didn't even care because they wanted a nextgen GT.

That's pretty interesting, europe has always been GT's strong point, but when you get online there are hundreds of USA rooms with the majority having 7-15 players each on average, this does not include setting room option regions to "all" i'm really guessing people just didn't want to go retail as much since it's already available in the PSN store... Or, it just did bomb in the US, but either way i enjoy it, The best physics i have yet to experience on a console, but the game it's self, leaves alot to be desired...then again, i also have F5 to keep me busy :)

Personally, I would wait for the NPD numbers though.

Eh these realistic driving sims have never interested me and I suppose this just proves that the fans that like these games are losing interest now. Time to move onto something else. I always think of it as a good thing when these big name franchises start showing their lackluster sales. Maybe it will actually force the developers to create something new. Maybe?

All Sony did was announce they will close down the GT5 servers. Not a good sign, as its obvious they're going to try and get people to buy the new game.

And if you thought GT6 was going to sell anywhere near GT5 after that disaster of a game, then, lol

Yeah, that was an shitty decision on Sony's part to push people into buying GT6.
