3rd time posting this in this thread. Gran Turismo numbers come from here, and are as of June 2010. No idea where he got Forza numbers, though.

Well atm GT5P has sold almost 5 million copies..

Hard to find total sales up until now for HALO ODST however I found this..

In way back to year 2005, did u know Gran Turismo 4 had dominated first Forza Motorsport sales.

Here is my report about Gran Turismo running over Forza sales in this gen.

GT5 Prologue sold 4.95 million units

GT PSP sold 1.96 million units

Total: 6.91 million units sold.

Forza sales in this gen:

Forza Motorsport 2 sold 2.67 million units

Forza Motorsport 3 sold 2 million units

Total: 4.67 million units sold.

GT 5 will probably score a 9.5, but all other GT games have scored lower then their Forza counterparts

and all killzone games have scored equal or lower then their Halo counterparts, so the analogy previously given was not a good one

I think a 9.0 would be acceptable, its been a year since Forza 3 and I know standards can really change in the span of a year so today's 9.0 would be yesterday's 10. I mean, I don't think GTA IV or MGS4 would score a 10 if released today due to outdated graphics or a streamlining in mechanics in the intervening time for games.

For all that time and money though it damn well better get a 9.5.

Since sts answered the ODST issue, I'll reply to the main topic. Why does GT5 have only the slimmest chance to outscore FM3? Because the only score available higher than 9.5 is a 10. 10. Now think about that, and in all the history of GS, how 10's have a much lower turnout than at most other review sites. Getting the picture?

Simply having more cars, weather changes=/=better game, or better score. If those features are not integrated well into the game, then there is certainly a good chance that GT5 will score lower. GT4 had more cars and features than GT3 and it scored lower.

its not bad when you consider the fact that the gane has more content than "full fledged" titles. But either way it should have cost less than it did because the online portion was not that good
