Gran Turismo Sport Hype Thread!

@lexxluger: the demo was only available for a few days last week. It's offline now unfortunately.

They need to hurry up and patch an offline career mode, I know it's coming and I need to get my hands on it before I can make my own evaluation on it, but I know the driving is going to be fantastic.

GT has always had one of the best driving physics simulations in the industry.

Well damn, i'm never getting a VR set ever then.

Gamespot will show its PS preference once again, 9/10

I voted 8 and honestly think it will be an 8.0 quality game (great).

GT has always been one of the best driving simulators and if that holds true this will no doubt be a great driving experience.

I do think not having a dedicated offline career mode with hurt it critically and that also hurt it in my own personal criteria so no I don't think it will get a 9.0 missing a feature that has been established as standard unless it's EXTREMELY polished in every area and executes everything it set out to do flawlessly.

On the PS preference thing, there is not such phenomenon.

Great games score great and not so great games score less than that. The thing is PS has had a lot of great games this gen (lol like every gen but a highlight in 2017)

So the only preference you can accuse someone of having is liking great games and reporting that experience. Not all "PS" games score great

The Order 1886, Drive Club, Knack, Little Big Planet 3, The Tomorrow Children, Godzilla, Berserk, Natural Doctrine, Drawn to Death, Star Ocean: Integrity and faithlessness ect all kind if cripple that half baked theory

So you need to reevaluate your conspiracy theory on PS games because it's far from an accurate perspective.

@lexxluger: Yeah because cows don't inflate Xbox game's scores. There were cows calling for Halo Wars 2 to get a 9/10 in that hype thread in Feb knowing full well the first was underscored here and the second probably would be, and it was. Spare me the shock at a lem doing this non sense.

I haven't visited the Halo Wars 2 thread but I don't doubt some might have voted 9.0 but I doubt many PS fans seriously voted a 9 knowing the score of the first game even if to oversell it's reception. Do you have a link?

That said, if you're trying to inflate your own personal expectation of GTSport in an effort to hope if flops and then go on to use disclaimers that undermine the 9.0 score in the same breath then you've accomplished to fanboy tactics in a single action.

Sorry but for your accusation of what "cows" were doing you have a whopping 2 poster known as a sony fans to vote 9.0 in that thread.

That's a fail on your argument about "cows" inflating xbox game scores using the very example that you choose.

Most Sony fans actually voted realistically and well within expectations for the game...even tormentos only voted 8.0. Speaking on integrity, you're going to have to own your own actions here because you didn't really make a good case for the "because cows did it" excuse.

The vast majority of "cows" voted the SAME as xbox fans did and the game still didn't live up to the expectation :/. This is not "cows" fault nor an act of "cows" to over rate the game as you suggested, so yeah "LMAO".

First patch was 11 GB, 2nd one ( who didn't downloaded first one ) is over 12 GB

AAA hype? Not that it matters, but i think you guys are asking this game to flop here.

I loved the demo and will buy the game tomorrow, but you can't forget that Forza 7 offers the same quality and much, much more content. I hope i'm wrong, but i can see GTS getting a 8 or even a 7 here easily.

Could be. But I've definitely seen something like that on the TV screen, but not on the headset screens, when using other PSVR games. At any rate, if it is a bug of some sort it will definitely get patched.

@PAL360: Lack of content will hurt it. I see it getting an 8 too.

One thing to note. I myself am susceptible to motion sickness (I can't even spin around twice without getting a little nauseous), yet I've found that in VR, usually, if I find myself feeling uncomfortable while playing a game, meaning cold sweats and all that good stuff, after a couple gaming sessions I get used to it and the discomfort goes away. "VR legs" is a real thing, in other words. Having said that, though, some people just can't play in VR.

I think this game will get a 7. The driving is top notch and the graphics are beautiful, but it is lacking some standard content which makes me feel like this game is more of a GT Prologue 7 than a full game.

So here's my score prediction. I'm going for a 9. What a 9? Well this game is focusing on online competitive racing. It's not a single player game, even though it still offers some offline features. I don't think this will impact the score as much as some people think. If this is what they set out to do and they execute it well, then there's no reason to fault them for it.

From the demo previews, the game is fun to play, is good looking and is stable. Car dlc will be free and no microtransactions. Believe it or not, Gt Sport has a lot going for it.

See Titanfall, for example. No campaign, some offline training and challenges. Most content was online, but the execution was good enough to get a 9, despite missing features other shooters had.

I think, from what I understand, you are getting the same as the others only there's one version of a career instead of two. An offline career and an online career. Instead you have one career that's online. This isn't new. Take a look at PC's iRacing. There's no offline component whatsoever. Everything is online and it's a popular racing sim on PC. Gran Turismo is aiming for that experience, not the traditional console racing game. If it's going to be compared to anything, it would be games like iRacing. It's not like it's missing tracks or race types. And cars are going to be updated for free as time goes by.

This is strongly dependent on a reviewers expectation and perspective. There were a lot of reviewers that didn't think that was enough for a 9 and there will also be those that feel the same for GTSport.

E Sports or not, there are a lot of long time GT fans that just expect an offline campaign mode to be there and will feel that if it's lacking it is a diminished experience (I tend to lean this way as well). This feeling will likely be held among gamers and reviewers regardless of GTS's quality.

So I expect the community to be split on the whole competitive online narrative; Some will fully embrace the "Esports" promotion and judge it based off that premise but others will fall back on GT's legacy and say it's a compromised experience compared to prior games, but we don't know which perspective the GS reviewer will have until they release the review.

Of course. My post was in the context of a Gamespot review. I honestly expect GT Sport to especially be torn to shreds by sim racing sites.

I hope to see a patch for offline campaign in the future, I didn't give Titan fall a free pass for providing less of what I expect for a shooter and I really can't do that for GTSport either even though it does look really tempting.

I must resit the urge to jump on the GTSport train due to my principals but I am hopeful for a patch from PD, hopefully sooner than later. This would have been a day one otherwise.

@lexxluger: 9 months have passed since I said a 7/10 Hale Wars 2, damn time flies!

I forgot about that hype thread but the reason why I even said 7/10 (before GS review scored it) was the fact that no one ask for another Halo Wars game, RTS just aren't suited for consoles and even the first Halo Wars wasn't all that popular which is why I gave it a 7/10.

I really don't get this whole Cows issue what Cainetao11 is all over this. Point is, Halo Wars 2 wasn't gonna be something special but I do understand it has it's own fan base so there's that.

He done took it to the chin one to many times for xbox one this gen and is overly defensive, delusional and hypocritical when it comes to xbox, sony fans and anything PlayStation related.

I've been away for hours getting blown away by this game in 4K and playing it in VR! Hot damn, it's amazing in VR!

The cars are insanely detailed and the handling is great. Completely destroys Driveclub VR in immersion. It sucks we can't play VR online but what's here is top-notch stuff. PD took their time and created the best VR driving experience on consoles and maybe even PC (I haven't played PC2 in VR yet but if it's like PC1 then GTS surpasses it).

@quadknight: Great to hear! I'm primarily interested in the VR aspect, even though I know it's limited. I don't expect it to beat Dirt Rally on PSVR, but I'm sure I'll like it.

What are you smoking dude? The game plays and looks great, I dunno what you're talking about.

You'll definitely enjoy it. I've put in hundreds of hours into Driveclub VR already and I like this even better.

Sorry NyaDC, I know you want the game to suck but it doesn't, it's actually really good.

When GTS was first announced, Eurogamer has gave negative criticism towards GTS. It's interesting that they're giving a positive impression towards the game after the final build.

Yea, they recently announced that they're going to add events into the offline campaign in a patch. I just hope that the patch gets added sooner than expected.

I'm playing the system wars game, check the Forza 7 hype thread since you have it saved under favourites, and you will see a similar post from cows who says it's a 10 anything else is a flop.

I'm just returning the favour & having fun here, so it's a 10 or a flop, can't deal with that then that's your problem mr cow.

Oh and here's the difference I don't hype ANY game, I didn't say every preview for Forza was positive or post that everyone who played the demo liked it, unlike what the cows have been posting about GT, so i'm throwing it back in their face because for all the talk they did for the game they wouldn't post a hype thread.

I went for a safe 8 here at gamespot but sounds like its going to flop. The lack of content and any meaningful progression is tied to must be online stings.

That's a nice review. Seems as though GT is moving more towards the sim genre while Forza more towards the simcade genre. I guess it is a valid move for both and differentiates them further and both can be good in their own place. I'm just glad Polyphony finally chose a direction and I hope they stick with it and I think it is the right one for the GT series.

GS pre-review doesnt look good. And I'm glad it doesnt. GT Sport is a shell of a proper GT game. I really hope it fails so that Polyphony Digital gets its priorities right. Always online, no career mode, lack of offline activities and progression and lackluster car list is a no-no for me

Will this game have leader boards like the old Forza's did? I have F7 on the PC and I'm extremely disappointed with the lack of class based leader boards (like they had in F3 & F4).

I have a PS4 Pro and a G29 so I maybe considering this.
