Gran Turismo Sport release date: November 15th!

Cool. Hopefully its better than their past couple of efforts. I loved the actual driving in GT5, but everything outside of that sucked. My GT fanboy of a buddy told me GT6 was pretty much the same so I didn't even bother.

GT has become a has-been series which is not cool, they need to get that premier racer title back. Hopefully this game will be a step in the right direction.

When you really think about it, research it and reflect on this franchise, GT is the most over hyped but underwhelming franchise of the genre. This was never a premiere AAA franchise and the last and sole AAA it received from here was all the way back in 2001. That's a decade and a half long ago! The rival already raised the bar and set the bar for the genre and sits comfortably in the throne. I'm not even going to name that rival because any fan of the genre already knows the name of that franchise that pumped out quality titles from the beginning. Their beginning was the end for the GT franchise. Hopefully this new GT will satisfy their remaining fans but real fans of the genre already moved on a decade ago. No one hypes GT games anymore. And if somehow this new one get decent reviews, that's not going to remove the blemish of a decade and a half of disappointment. This was never a king of anything to be honest.

As a fan I'm glad that they have learned to just produce a consistence package, no need for 5,000 cars with f****in old assets, premium none-premium bullshit. Watching the stream right now the first race they nailed the sporting aspect. Reserving the quick judgement on the other aspects such as sound. I hope its all place-holder for the moment. I'm not blown away but they have my interest.

This is good news, now PS4 enjoys a proper racer exclusive to tidy up all genres.

I still dont understand wtf is this game supposed to be... is it still a full fledged GT game? Or its something like Prologue? Cause I've read somewhere this is not GT 7

GT was considered the king before Forza was even a glimmer in the eye of MS.

No licence test, not sure if challenges will be in it and probably no upgrades.

simulation? Plenty of PC racing games are way better than Forza. Hell, we dont even have to go much further to find one: Project Cars is better at simulation than Forza

People bringing up Forza in a Gran Turismo thread are like those people who must think Kanye West will put Missy Elliott on the map. It's almost cute. Utterly misguided, but cute.

I'm sure it will be gameplay wise. GT is the best in its genre at pure on track racing simulation. The graphics are not nearly as good from this trailer though.

J/K I don't really care. GT was great back in the day but I don't really like arcade or semi racing sims. I prefer the hardcore racing of iRacing to any of the racing games available

Nope, just having a little fun. I really don't care for console racers. I've always been more into the hardcore simulators I have 3 27inch monitors, direct drive large Mige FFB wheel with Obutto Rev sim rig and HPP PRX 3 pedal set.

GT Sport is going to annihilate everything those yearly Forza rehash editions have racked up this entire gen on top of being the best exclusive racer on any platform.

lol even when GT was not regarded as being that good, they were still better functional racing games than Forza was. This news has made my year, greatness non-stopped on PS4 and lol at bots in here talking about Forza as if anyone cares about that franchise, lems hyping games they don't buy, Forza hasn't broken top 5 with any release on NDP this gen.

Looks very underwhelming. Thankfully, we have FM, AC, and PCars to get our race on.

Shame PD can't get their act together. PD struggles to compete with the other studios now. GT used to be the king of racers and the flagship PS franchise. WTF happened?

he mentioned, "FM" which by any indication would suggest Forza Morotsport, a game franchise that not even owners of the system who have access to the game care enough about to buy or support; so the answer to your question is probably 1 of 2 things....stupidity or fanboyism. A strong possibility of both.

It looks like Gran Turismo 6 and has limited car selection and tracks.

Gran Turismo is Playstation's premier most well known franchise to mainstream casual people.

I still remember the late 90's the Gran Turismo posters and twisted metal posters around the offices and people chatting about cars and stuff they wanted to get relaxing playing GT.

Well xbox fans don't even care about Forza.

Don't let the fake Forza hype on system wars by loud mouth xbox fans fool you. They only even speak about Forza because it (was) the last xbox exclusive to be highly regarded critically. At no time has Forza every challenged GT commercially and xbox fans don't even care enough about it to even make it top 5 on NDP "at launch". You'll find that the only time it's bought up is when ppl mention scores or GT.

Vast majority of xbox fans aren't racing fanatics nor do they care about Forza, there's no need to take my words for it because even if MS won't share official sales; NDP will give us a good indication of what fans of each system really care about.

Anyways not a fan of the series since GT3 but I have been starving for a decent racing game on the PS4 now that Wipeout is dead.

GT has a loyal fanbase for a reason and it isn't for being "arcadey". frankly, I lost any motivation to continue playing Forza after 3. It was a great game, possibly the best exclusive of 360's lifespan, however the fact that it's supposed to be a sim-cade but just felt more like a arcade than anything made me loose interest in the series.

I am looking forward to the more fine tuned and tweak heavy GT based gameplay.

Do you care more about sales or the actual quality of the game? People who play Forza enjoy it and are not paying attention to sales. Forza is awesome and has been better than GT for a while. I have owned all iterations of both franchises and play other similar games like AC and PCars. I am unbiased in my opinions.

I don't care about sales, but fake gamers hyping up a franchise from a genre they don't show they support is easy to point out in many cases.

The only thing sales do for me as a gamer is ensure the dev is supported and knows they should create more good games. Your opinion that Forza is better than GT has never been widely supported. GT set the standard for console sim racers and Forza just came in riding on it's coat tails and cashing in on the fanbase with casual aspects of racing while still trying to pose as a head to head competitor to GT boasting as a "sim" racer.

If you own all versions of both series, tell me, which series has the more realistic physics, weight distribution and driving mechanics? I don't know where you draw your judgement from but as a racing fan that is what I base my opinion on. I am curios on your break down on what you feel makes Forza a better racer than GT.

Lmao! How could anyone be impressed with the trailer. Screen tearing, and aliasing everywhere, and the worst music I've ever heard, which is pretty bad considering that whoever made the trailer deemed that music better than the actual game sound.

How can GT play second fiddle to a series that has become irrelevant before it even had any competition? lol. Forza is non-factor even on it's launch day, there is no foreseeable future for Forza except people wishing it made an impact somewhere.

Forza is a better overall package. Better presentation (music, menus, audio, graphics as a whole), actually runs at 60fps without struggling, better multiplayer, better community options, better exterior camera and controller feel (I normally play with the wheel though), more 'premium' tracks and cars (no legacy PS2 shit). The physics in Forza are pretty good, but are definitely simcade leaning more towards sim. That is OK because the game is fun. Honestly, the driving physics in GT series have been very hit and miss. It can be very good and then way off. I think Assetto Corsa is my favorite in terms of driving physics.
