HL2 with the cinematic mod is an obvious choice, tho not sure if 2005 hardware could had handled it, I think 7800GTX or something like that was the best out at the time, maybe in SLI. X3 is another game ahead of its time, but it's a space sim. FEAR, CoD2 and Splinter Cell from the more traditional genres still look good too, can't bother finding pics. I might post some last gen pics later for fun, not the kind that could compete with modern games tho.

I though the 7 series were availabe in AGP as well.Marka1700
Depends on the card... you can get a 7900GS in AGP... but not a 7900GT/GTX... and I think you can get a 7800GT in AGP... but good luck finding any of them (not manufactured anymore)... you are better off getting a low end 8 series AGP like an 8600 (I think they come in AGP)... or a 4830 or below....

AGP is pretty dead... you are better off buying a whole new PC... because the fact that currently you have a 7300 and only 1GB of ram... I am guessing that your CPU is crap as well... so getting a better GPU won't change anything really...

[QUOTE="DragonfireXZ95"]

[QUOTE="Nerkcon"] I have a GeForce 7300 LE. I have DDR 1 ram and my motherboard does not support DDR 2, will a GeForce 7900 GTX work on my PC?)

Marka1700

If you have a PCI-E slot, yes, it will.

I though the 7 series were availabe in AGP as well.

Only a few of them were I believe. I don't think the 7900 GTX was made in AGP form, however, the 7900 GS was, but it's hard to find it on sale anywhere.

This is probably one of the fastest AGP cards made currently: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131141

Although, on the plus side, it's compatible with PCI-E Configuration it seems. So when you do finally get that new mobo, cpu and ram; you can still use this card until you can afford a better one if you're tight on money. Unless I read, "AGP 8x configurations with AGP-PCI-E external bridge chip" wrong. :P

There are still some AGP 3850s going for less than 100 bucks, but really if you have AGP you're better off getting a whole new mobo, cpu and ram, there are some really cheap alternatives atm.

And few GTA:SA screenies, not mine so don't ask what mods, settings etc. they have.

Well I cherry picked those screens in a true SW fashion. :P There was no describtion with the pics, I think ENBSeries or something is at least one of the things used, prolly more tweaking done as well.

info for all of you: That's a custom config of Boris Vorontsof's ENB Series graphics mod, enables HDR, bloom and other effects in games like san andreas, painkiller, GTR2, rfactor, and so forth, it can REALLY look that good, but its hard since it takes aloot of .ini tweaking... mad props to whoever made that config, ps, those are simple car and envoironment mods, hop over to GTA garage, GTAFR and the likes to learn how to mod... man i want to reinstall san an now :D

Yeah it's a cool mod, tried it with Bloodlines, you just throw the files in the game directory and then you can toggle it on/off with a press of a button in-game. In theory it could do wonders with some texture enhancements, but you need patience and determination to tweak all the effects right, I just ended up turning off most of them.

needs alot of pacience indeed... i did make my own config for GTR2 though, not that strong, it just adds more contrast and light bloom, no crazy HDR or anything
