Need For Speed: Time Trial While Dodging Lunatic AI Drivers would have given a much more accurate depiction of the game. If you try to get golds on all the events, you'll spend ~5 minutes of a race or pursuit to get gold since they're all super easy, then multiple tries on time trials that can take up a lot of your time. I felt like all I ever did on that game was dodge the AI drivers swerving into the opposite lane making them easier for me to hit. Very frustrating. I quit playing about half way through. GT5 is much better.
BUT THE SPIKE STRIPS. I don't understand how you can't love that game. So much cool. Why doesn't every county have Lambo cop cars? I didn't have much of a problem the civilian cars either. You crazyEverything "cool" about the game had pretty much already been donw in NFS Hot Pursuit 2 on PS2. Only changes were for the worse. Driving was pretty sub par. Drifting was cool for maybe the first 10 minutes but then it got old and drifting around a narrow blind turn with a civilian car in each lane only to lead to a guaranteed crash that causes you to start the entire time trial over again. All the cars handle nearly exactly the same as well. Most of the "short cuts" don't even help your time and the rubberbanding AI make it even more annoying.
