Greatest demo ever. Yes, demo.

After spending a lot of time on the Skate demo, I've come to the conclusion that it's the greatest demo of all time. For those who haven't played it; after a quick tutorial on the basics, you're granted 30 minutes of playtime within the skate park. You're also allowed limited use of the replay function.

My doubts about the game quickly disappeared once I played the demo. Another demo that comes to mind is FFVIII's. What's your favourite?

I disagree. Ninja Gaiden Sigma is the best demo ever. I put almost 50 hours into it trying to get high scores. majadamus

I played the demo more than the actual game, which I still haven't finished although I bought it the day it released.

Edit: Skate was fun though..I'll probably buy it eventually.

I think the greatest demo ever was the Prey Demo. It gave you 1/4th of the game, and two multiplayer maps.Sir-Marwin105

Plus we got an awesome inside joke because of the Prey demo. 8)

That demo sold a lot of copies of ZoE ala Halo 3 beta w/ Crackdown.

Skate demo was sexy.

The UT 2004 demo however I have spent countless hours just playing the same map online over and over and over again. I never had to buy the game :-D.

Also, yeah, the Ninja Gaiden Sigma demo is just chock-full of way too much content.

Have you ever played a demo so much, that by the time the game's released you're already burnt out?

The FFVIII Demo was my fav that damn mechanical spider

and the FFXII Demo packed with Dragonquest VII was cool too

The game was already out by the time I started playing the demo. A friend asked me to start playing it with him, and I got into it.

Crackdown was extremely fun, especially co op.

I saw my brother play it and I didn't find it any more appealing than the other Tony Hawks games...

Lol at the very least I did an ollie and a tweak and a grind when my sister couldn't seem to do any of it.

Apart from that, it just didn't look to appealing.

No real rigid story but just gaining sponsors and "owning" areas.

I guess the major difference between this and TH was the use of thumbsticks. It's like EA is porting it's "total punch control" system to every damn game of theirs -- FIFA, Harry Potter, if EA is on the title, it's got some sort of right stick function.

I wonder if skate's popularity has anything to do with Lupe Fiasco's (and others) rejuvenation of skating as a hobby for the masses to relive again (much like 80s hairdos are coming bck)

But really, instead of making a smart quip, could you tell me what makes this skating game more fun and strangely more popular than Tony Hawk's?
