Greatest FPS

I think the greatest FPS is Halo:CE

If you can count First person adventure the I would easily go for Metroid Prime.

Half Life 1.

1) Half-Life 2

2) Deus Ex

3) System Shock 2

For multiplayer:

1) Counter-Strike

2) Team Fortress 2

3) Quake Series

4) Halo series

5) Battlefield series

I'm not a big FPS fan

Didn't care for anything Valve has popped up

Didn't like Bioshock

Didn't care for Halo

Just basically a lot. Oddly enough though, I like Resistance.

Halo: Combat Evolved. I love, LOVE Halo: CE.enterawesome

The original PC Doom as far as being stunned in amazement and terrified (when Pinky first appeared) at the same time. It's brand of multiplayer was a total surprise too. Nowadays, I just giggle a bit when I play it in DOSBox. But back then when I played it alone at night, I actually had the occasional shakes.

Half-Life 2. End of story. Topic closed. Move on.

For its time I thought Halo CE was the best. Like the first time I played that game was unlike any other experience Ive ever had with a shooter

I know they didn't age well, but Perfect Dark and Goldeneye are still my most favorites in the FPS genre.

Halo series and BioShock series are my favourite nowadays (Bio for SP and Halo for MP, tho ODST had a great SP)

The first Halo. I never gamed on the PC, so my FPS experiences were few. I had a few good experiences on my Gamecube, with Medal of Honor, 007 Nightfire, Metroid Prime, and Echoes, but once a purchased the Xbox, and played Halo, that's all it took. I was blown away! So for me, it's Halo for sure.

This is one of the threads where it is extremely easy to seperate young gamers from the old school folks :P

I think KZ2 MP is the most fun this gen. It's quite sad that people disregard it because of some simple control tweaks were necessary.

For SP I'd go with HL2.

Perfect Dark, Turok 2, BAttlefield Bad company 2 and halo1 and 3

There are perfectly legitimate reasons why someone would think Halo is the greatest FPS. Do I think it's the greatest? Hell no. But I don't think it's right to laugh at other peoples' opinions.

2. Borderlands

5. Killzone 2

Either Perfect Dark. Or the Halos. I think Halo 1 and 2 on PC are the better versions (due to online and such), reason is because there is no comparison with the PC versions and the Xbox versions.
