Japan's biggest game series is sure as hell not FF. Dragon Quest or Mario, more than anything. Regardless, who else could deserve such a title besides Shiggy himself?enterawesomeSays the dude with the LIGHTNING picture

GrandTheftDog
all i can say is i have probably put in nearly 2k hours into Sim City 3000...its one of the best games ever, it was a perfect balance of fun and serious management...then 4 came along and guffed it up and dissapointed me :(

You do realize that Kojima would've voted for Miyamoto himself if he was on this forum and saw the poll?i vote for hideous kojima, because MGS is my favorite series of all time.
positivebalance
Miyamoto (Mario, Zelda, Pikmin) and Michel Ancel (Rayman, Rayman 2, Beyond Good and Evil) are my two favourite developers of all time, but one has done a lot more than the other so Miyamoto it is.
There is only one answer. If you don't vote for Miyamoto, you opinion is just wrong. Nothing to it, but that:P
jk
Where's Gabe Newell? He made Half-Life...UACmarine208
funny that's not how you spell 'da mario guy' oops i mean Shigeru Miyamoto
I'd like to know what John Carmack ISN'T doing on this list. Seriously. Way more influence on the industry than Kojima.
Out of those, Hideo Kojima. The Metal Gear series is so damn good, I love the story, it really makes you think. The Metal Gear Solid games are so cinematic. I still need to buy MGS4, I don't know why I'm still putting it off.

Thinking because of a provocative message and thinking because the plot's so convoluted that your brain hurts after trying to figure out just what the hell's going on are 2 different things.
...and on topic, Sid Meier.
What Miyamoto is to the East and consoles, Meier is to the West and the PC.
Without question Miyamoto. Think about it. An entire company has been made extremely successful and sustainable from the brainchilds of one man. What would Nintendo be without Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Metroid (yea I know he's not the creator but he has had his hand in past games), Star Fox, Animal Crossing, F-Zero and Pikmin? I mean, Christ, Nintendo would be nothing without him.
Not only has he come up with these ideas and executed them flawlessly, he's managed to keep them relatively fresh throughout the years, except Zelda which is in danger of becoming stale. The guy's inarguably a genius, and the most successful gaming company ever owes it's success in large part due to him.
