Apparently it has really bad checkpoints.

Shouldn't they have marked it lower for no multiplayer and a removed level?
I'm surprised it got the "great sound effects" award. I watched a video and the guns sound like **** now.
I'm pretty sure that goes for the PC version as well, I think the game only saved once you completed your objective. So I manually saved constantly, but even then some times I would forget, and it be annoying doing things all over again. having not played the xbox version I dont know if you can save manually.
Well, good thing I already have it on the PC.
That's good for console only players though. I still maintain that Crysis is one of the best single player shooters of this gen.
Really? I'm playing it on PS3 and find the sound design amazing.Shouldn't they have marked it lower for no multiplayer and a removed level?

I just watched another video. The sounds are definitely different. They lack all punch and sound like crappy Crysis 2 guns.

PC version had checkpoints at random points in the game. Not just when you completely the objective.

I actually find them to sound vastly superior to Crysis 2 from what I can recall. The FY71 sounds beastly, especially in single shot mode.[QUOTE="ChubbyGuy40"]Really? Checkpoints?
You can also save almost anywhere you want on the PC version.

The FY71 is totally different. On PC is sounded way more realistic. The console version sounds really, really fake.
They're not top tier, even for consoles. 2 looked better, at times at least (although I'm not very far yet).Notice it didn't get any emblems for good graphics

How were they bad?:|Having to redo things after I die were annoying. Thats really the only thing I can think of. But afterwards I stopped relying on the save system, so its no big deal.Teh grahicz r 1.5 pointz!!1! :P Oh well, I might get it. BlabadonInferior grpahics yes. But also inferior controls (and that game is all about being precise with your control, especially when playing on the hardest difficulty), REALLY low frame rate, a number of bugs collision and clipping bugs, noticably inferior AI, no multiplayer and missing a level.
Also, no quick saves. That game is built with quick save in mind (like most pc games)
The changes to the AI and the frame rate and control issues hurt the console version the most.
The pc version remains incredible. You can play that game so many ways.

I agree with the frame rate, but controls seem fine. I'm actually playing with aim assist off for some reason, and whilst I found it tricky at first - i'm getting used to it. Well suited for a controller generally. The PC version got a 9.5.
So the console version is superior, Crytek?

I heard missing MP element and short time budget port doesn't matter in scoring.

I love the new sniper rifle sound. The first time I fired one I was shocked by the following boom :PThe guns in Crysis sounded like pop guns so I'm happy to hear them sound like something's exploding now.
PC version is still better, but I think the sound in the console version is better.
ARe you enjoying the game?[QUOTE="finalstar2007"]
FOR those that love trophies, Crysis has easy plat! i only got it for the easy trophies lol
jettpack
Its an ok game, nothing special about it other than trophies lol, plays way too similar to BF3/BC2 and its very slow, the game is all about sneaking so far. playing on Delta gets annoying at times but overall a 7.5 from me

Well suited for a controller generally.its not bad control wise, but the way you use the powers in the pc version is fundamentally different. You should be able to sprint while using any of the suit abilities (but super sprinting while in speed mode) but the console version puts you into super sprint without any option to regular sprint (unless you are cloaked), so there isnt really a medium speed. Also the sprint in crysis on the PC is lightning fast. Also that game begs for mouse and keyboard controls. to really play that game you need that sort of persicion.Ive played the PC version of crysis about 6 times all the way through, and the first 3-4 levels over 20 times depending on the level.
ive put in about 5 hours with the console version and it really suffered. its not a bad port, its just clear that it was done pretty quickly and isnt particularly polished.

gotta play the PC version, man. it really makes a world of difference. Also playing through it multiple times and EXPERIMENTING is the way to play. no 2 playthroughs are the same really. if you ever get a chance to really sit down with Crysis on the PC, i suggest you try it.Finally it got the score it deserves, i always thought that Crysis was Overrated to begin with, 8.0 is exactly what it should had score from the beginning.

You don't need checkpoints in a game where you can quicksave anywhere you want.
You do need it with the console port however, seeing as how they never implement a quicksave feature.
Standards change bro with each year. While I have no doubt the PC version is the definitive version it's ridiculous to say a game released back in 07 that got a 9.5 was judged on the same standards 4 years later. Let's say if Resistance 1 was released today for the xbox 360, what do you think the score would be? Definitely not a 8.6 like it got in 06.The PC version got a 9.5.
So the console version is superior, Crytek?

Well, considering GS changed their rating scale it technically CAN'T be an 8.6.... :P

You can play crysis how ever you want pure run and gun like below or slow and stealthy or any combination of the 2 I've wiped out entire squad of marines with nothing but my super strength+speed and a 4 lb crab. I'd also recommenced lowering the difficulty less hits to die and doesn't guide you more down stealth especially when playing with a controller. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTgIvVs5tYY[QUOTE="finalstar2007"][QUOTE="jettpack"]ARe you enjoying the game?

Yeah, playing Crysis on Delta for your first playthrough will make it very slow-paced and stealth-focused. Crysis is one of the best shooters this gen and you're butchering your experience with it for a Platinum? :|
no , it is the standards that change, obviously consoles have higher standardsThe PC version got a 9.5.
