I actually think they give these reviews to stand out. I switched to IGN, but now in gamerankings. Much more accurate.

[QUOTE="real_madrid_99"]yea i'm getting tired that whenever a hyped game gets reviewed everyone screams teh bias!, just face the facts GS review the games objectibly, the don't eat up the Hype like most other sites, so you know just stop crying if your game flops and take the ownageblues3531

you look into my face and tell me Perfect Dark Zero earned 9.0 AAA....can you?

in 2005 yeah it did . other than F.E.A.R it was the best FPS of the year

no i played the game and it was garbage excuse for a next gen game, cod2 was a much much much better launch xbox 360 game, the only game i had any interest in at the consoles launch

good call

are u being sarcastic? cuz hl2 had better graphics than pdz and it was a last gen game, pdz was "teh next genzz" and looked like crap...not saying graphics are everything but when your first next gen experience is pdz your like this is all we waited 5 years after xbox and ps2 for?

? me being sarcastic? im lost by what ur saying, where did this context come into play... lol PDZ sucks, COD was better so i was saying good call... lol whats wiht ppl now a days, so defensive...oyyyy

IDK I'm begining to believe they think if they are more critical on some games and nit picky then that means they are the most detailed reviewer. That's the vibe I'm gettin lately.

Big game is released. Consenses gives Score 'x'

Gamespot waits longer, gives score 'x minus one notch' thus meaning they are more thorough when playin games and more professional?

real_madrid_99
no they are more profesional thay see flaws and not just good thing like most other sites do.

They focus way too much on minor crap and make a huge deal about it like in Bioshockor contradict themselves with Metroid Prime 3.

the fact is that gamespot tells it like it is they arent going to give zelda a 1 just because its another zelda game or halo 3 just because its another halo and when they dont give give fanboys the scores that they want all of teh sudden they are gameflop and evil.

Now about the whole PDZ thing it deserved its score. pdz is a good game with an decent single player and great online. not to mention the next gen wow factor it was one of those games that when you saw for the first time just seemed so beyond anything out. now if PDZ came out today it probably would not get the 9 but it came out at the right time so stop complaining because your favorite game scored lower

I agree completely TC. The amount of 9.5's and 10's other sites give is ridiculous. So many so that now scores like 8.5 are considered "low". When you just hand out those perfect scores left and right there's nothing left to distinguish the truly great games (ala' Ocarina of Time) that come out once in a blue moon. When all the hype surronding a game dies out a couple weeks after its been released, people start to chill out and a lot more tend to agreea gamespot review. Most stand the test of time, and that's why I respect a gamespot review more than any other site.

That's probably correct. I'd like to add that ratings were scored differently at that time as well.

They were probably being nice giving it an 8.5.

Seriously, the bar has gone up since Prime 1 and if your not doing much more than Prime 1 then you don't deserve a break through score. It always going to be harder for wii games to score high because the presentation, not only in graphics but sound is always going to be lower than all the other systems. Especailly if your making an FPS adventure that relies on immersion. Presentation still counts for something.
