Fair enough. It has potential, is fun, frustrating and tedious. With most of the fun to be had freeroaming with friends. Or managing to stumble upon cool random folks who aren't focused on doing their own thing or trying to kill you for no apparent reason. They do exist out there.

Now that technical issues have mostly been ironed out, Rockstar needs to start looking at design and balance.

Like, they say there's 500 missions. The hell they at? I'm level 20 and most of the time I'm still asked to replay what's essentially the same mission in different locations. Go here, shoot people around a thing, snatch the thing, take it to a place. It's an ok mode, but it hardly feels like 20 missions or whatever they're trying to pretend it into. I hear there is more substantially different missions, but they seem to be trudging them out real slow.

I need to win 15-30 races per class to unlock new vehicle mods?
Racing isn't that fun in this game to begin with. Don't know how many races I'd actually need to participate in in order to win that many. 60? 80? And then it's that amount per vehicle class. So that's what? 700? Not even crazy people is going to do that. What people will do is find ways to boost past it. Even then, you'd still have to do 90+ races if you want more than three fully unlocked classes.
Freeroaming has potential. Currently it's primarily dumb, in a bad way. Griefers are encouraged to grief. Some aren't aware you lose money by getting wasted, so they play haphzardly, losing progress, and perhaps unintentionally griefing others. Since there are so many jerks and no real way of repelling them, players get paranoid, which has two effects; they either shoot people who get close to them, or they try to run away and hide. Makes people play a lot more conservatively. You get punished for goofing around and getting yourself and others killed in amusing ways. Basically you get punished for trying to have fun and rewarded for avoiding other players. It's like anti-what GTA multiplayer should be.

I don't know how to balance all this nonsense out, but Rockstar needs to do something about it.

And while thank god for the bike glitch in the short term - as it at least makes losing money (and the cost of retaliation) a non-issue and in that way is somewhat of a step in the right direction - as more and more players (including the jerks) get unlimited money that's not exactly gonna make things better in the long run. Climbing that ladder is kind of the thing to do. Less incentive and focus = more chaos = increased frequency of random shootings in freeroam, I imagine. I condone chaos, but not if it basically just turns into serverwide deathmatch all the time. To me deathmatch is probably the least interesting aspect/mode of GTAO.

Play with friends and join a crew. Makes everything ten times funnier that it should.

How does the addition of more content make it worse?

SW is full of some of the most stupid people on the internet. Even simple numbers confuse them.

This.

Most great mp games have garbage sp or at least very short sp campaigns. Battlefield and COD come to mind. This should be taken into consideration when reviewing the whole package.

So, GTA V probably won't win GOTY.

Will LMFAO if another PS3 exclusive wins GOTY.
