seems like the 3ds is picking up good job nintendo, BUT how long do SW's think the high sales wil last though?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Even with the weak launch it still got strong sales. Nintendo has learned from their mistakes and seem to be making an effort to support the platform with as much software as they can pump out.
But this is SW. 3DS is a flop lol.
mmmwksil
oh you didnt know! nintendo=third party in 2 years
It's comparing the first year of both of them. The DS had two holiday seasons under it's belt, the 3DS will only have one and it's on track to beat it.Is it just me or is this a very unimpressive accomplishment considering DS came out a quarter or 2 later in the year than the 3DS.

it was expected but only Nintendo haters were hoping for its doom.I think Vita can say hi to its death. It wont even reach the success of the Dreamcast.I expect next gen Sony is going to be third party on the Wii U and 3DS.Even though Sony brings average exclusives I dont mind seeing their games on a great Nintendo console.
And only Vita haters are hoping or expecting its death. I am not hoping, I am PREDICTING.PSP GO gives us a strong hint how the future of the Playstation brand will be.

The PSP Go? Not the PSP? You know it actually did quite well, especially as a competitor to a Nintendo handheld. If you have to pick out parts of the PSP's history rather than address the PSP, then there definitely is some bias there, even if you deny it.[QUOTE="zeldisco2009"]And only Vita haters are hoping or expecting its death. Im not hoping Vita will fail, but Im afraid it will. The pricetag is too high and the games announced so far are not enough handheld-ish.
The DS also launched in the midst of the holiday season benefiting from the holiday rush, whereas the 3DS launched in the slowest portion of the year.Is it just me or is this a very unimpressive accomplishment considering DS came out a quarter or 2 later in the year than the 3DS.

As will many anticipated games like Mario, Mario Kart and Monster Hunter.A price cut will do that for you.

Did the 3DS was have better games and lower price on start .....??lol This is the PSVita and not just a 3DS......PSVita it will outsell the 3DS very easy.[QUOTE="SaltyMeatballs"]Mario almost made me buy it (looks amazing), but I'll wait for Pokemon.AtariKidXTry Mario Kart on the Wii.......it is a lot better on big screen. Wut? I was talking about Mario 3D Land not Mario Kart, though Mario Kart does look good it's not a system seller for me. I already have Mario Kart Wii, but thanks. (oh and yes I have the Mario Galaxy games)

I can't wait to rub it in when the Vita ends up selling much lower than you anticipate. The Vita will sell a lot, as much as the PSP maybe, and I'm buying one day one, but your incessant vendetta against the 3DS is making me hope that it does not get off to a flying start, just to shut you up once and for all.[QUOTE="AtariKidX"][QUOTE="BlbecekBobecek"]Did the 3DS was have better games and lower price on start .....??lol This is the PSVita and not just a 3DS......PSVita it will outsell the 3DS very easy. You taking it way too seriously with this guy. He can't even tell the difference if Nintendo is a publisher or a developer. Calm down son, it's just SW.

The sales spike says differently.
This post confuses me, how is the sales spike evidence that people don't buy the system for the games?[QUOTE="kuu2"]

people are buying the 3ds because these game are very anticipated
The price drop is the reason as those games were already announced/expected before price drop and it didn't help[QUOTE="Mario1331"][QUOTE="kuu2"]

Huuuge price drop, the 2 upcoming mario games ( no ! I don´t believe casual gamers care about Kid "Icarus" ) and the fact that the PHAT DS was/is ugly as ****. It will all be over soon though ;o)....
So, exactly the same as 3DS then?DS had a slow start though. That thing was pretty fugly and basically only had a Mario remake and Warioware at the time for the first 6 months or so , lol. It finally got a few more great games in June 2005 and then went from there.

Except the DS didn't need a $70 price cut after being out for a few months. :P

No, but it did need a $40 price cut after being on the market for roughly a year :P[QUOTE="Nike_Air"]So, exactly the same as 3DS then? 3DS has a slighly better lineup with the multiplats and 3rd party games than the DS had this early , and the system isn't as ugly. 3DS as bad as it is at the moment is still better than the DS was at the time.DS had a slow start though. Well, hopefully this is indicative of a general upward trend for the 3DS then. Wouldn't it be great if it ended up being even better than the DS? Whoa, the very thought gives me goosebumps :D[QUOTE="charizard1605"][QUOTE="Nike_Air"]
