Cows love to bring any argument around to sales. It's their get out of jail free card. On their way to bringing any discussion around to sales, they usually make a stop at scores and reviews. It's a place they like to visit if it fits their narrative.

The problem here is that there is really no place to hide. They bring up scores and reviews, and Forza has GT soundly beaten. The typical failsafe at that point is for them to run to sales.... Only it's no better there, with FH3 having over 9 million players vs GT Sport's 5.

As last ditch efforts, cows have brought up that Horizon is a spinoff, like Sport isn't or something. Then they'll usually just say something like "lol racing games" like GT isn't a playstation tent pole franchise.

So 150 million PC gamers + 30 million xbox owners and the known sales figures for the game were 2.7 million which is a LONG shot from 9 million,which mean many of those were free demos, or re buys.

You can try to ignore PC all you want,is there and with a bigger user base than the PS4,so 9 million users on a more than 150 million user base is even worse.

Forza doesn't work on ever PC ever made. It will only let you download and play it if your PC is up to it and meets minimum requirements.

I beg to differ when looking at Driveclubs figures (Which flopped hard) in relation to GT:S.

Driveclub sold just over 2.37 million copies and there was a ~25 million PS4 user base at the time.

GT:S sport as of March 2018 hit 5 million with a user base of ~80 million

If you scale the PS4 user base up for Driveclub to the 80 million GT:S has and then adjust the sales to suit you'll quickly work out that GT:S is actually a bit of a sales flop as it would actually be behind Driveclub.

Granted Driveclub has been out longer but regardless GT:Sport should of completely trashed 5iveclub as it's the more premium racer with a much bigger following and massively bigger fan base.... but it's not.

That's not the way it works. You don't scale based on install bases like that. First, you have to remember that when Driveclub came out there were a lot less games especially driving games. When you start using the install base excuse you start to sound like a lem.

According to your logic GT3 on the PS2 was a flop since it only sold 14 million on a userbase of 150 million. GTS hasn't been out up to a year and has already sold 5 million, that's a good number regardless and using install base is an idiotic way to determine if a game sold well or not.

@quadknight: agreed, and considering the rough start and bad reviews, it is successful, it is doing pretty well.

Yup, it's not even a mainline GT game so comparing it to other mainline GT games is flawed.

5 million in less than a year for any game is a good number unless you're a multiplat like COD or GTA.
