yeah but theres the point of the matter that thePS3 may be much better equiped in a sense said person might rather have the comfort of their couch and a big telly when learning the track it boils down to a matter of personal preference aswell not just the realism.

razgriz_101

sure, but all this determines what is better entertainment for specific person, not what is better training tool

It's always nice to see such movies..but come on...dozen of sims have done things like that before.

Dozens? Like? Name one.

The makers of some PC racing sims like netkar pro have partnered with the companies who make real professional racing analys tools, so you can feed back real data into them and recreate it with visual engine or just take game data and analyze it like it was real time.

They go even futher than that. Iopener has a system that uses gps tech to let gamers race against the people driving on real tracks in real time

netKar? I've never tried it myself but netKar but I've always followed it, hoping to be something big. I was never aware that Netkar partnered up with anyone for anything like that. You'd think they'd put more time into simulating more than just 5 tracks and more than 5 vehicles. One sim I think that WOULD have that feature is iRacing, but last I checked (I don't own an account myself, but my friend does) that feature does not exist. Though a rich online system is in place though. Can you provide a link saying that nkPro has that feature?

[QUOTE="zero_snake99"]Oh really? How about recruiting race car drivers? I really like how you just completely ignore everything PD has done up to this point and continue to call things pointless and just simple "entertainment." AdrianWerner

Och come on, if real drivers want to train there are far better and more accurate tools for that than GT series

Yes, I'd probably say iRacing is as good as it gets, but that literally costs hundreds of dollars a year, literally. I spend enough on school, car, and living expenses on my own, and I'm sure others feel the same. If they can get a hold of a 60 game on a 300 USD console (with wheel of course) that has show proven results, then why not go for that instead?

These prove nothing. It's not hard toscript the car take the same line and speed as a real vid.

This is just marketing. Says NOTHING about the physics.

Once again, the point has been missed. It is the new technology they have for the game. If you have a high end gps device, like the ones found in the FT-86, you can race around a real life track, then import that GPS data into GT5 in where it will recreate the lap time and racing line that you took so you can practice the course.

A little off topic here but the FT-86 looks amazing, I might get one when they release in 2012. Back on topic the game looks to be coming together.

It's a really nice looking car IMO. Apparently both Toyota and Subaru worked together to make that vehicle. Read that in Road & Track I think... Maybe Evo?

LOL, I saw this thread still active and remembered that there was at least one game that did this and couldn't remember what it was so I just did a fair bit of searching when I could've just read this.

Anyways, is there a good translation or does anyone know if this is using iOpener's system like Real Time Racing or did PD make their own system?
