GT5 is in trouble

My reply to TheGame. It's not a hunch but what should be common knowledge. Put it this way, I've had this discussion with the Sony Defense Force, Xbots, Nintendo Fanboys, GT fans, Killzone fans, Halo fans, Gears fans and every time I say the same thing. It just never seems to *stick*. Consoles games have aliasing. Not always obvious, but visible. Forza 2 was an aliased game, you're telling me that they've accomplished those graphics while also adding obscene, obscene amounts of AA? Because there isn't one console game that looks that clean -- hell people with phat rigs can't always achieve that fidelity. It could simply be rendered at a high resolution, and downscaled even if the shot was taken from gameplay but that's still a bullshot. But you wanted me to prove it, so I will. Here's a screencap from the replay footage. What's this!? Jaggies! O: But, Turn 10 told me there wouldn't be any! A bullshot from them. In a similar area, obvious decline in AA+AF from the replay footage. Verdict = Screens are bullshots. I didn't even need to do a comparison to see that for myself. For people that spend so much time talking about the technical aspects of games, you sure are gullible.

maybe they're putting everything thy've got on GT5.. but man this just takes too long its kinda frustrating.

You know what, you can argue about which sold more or whatever. Ill just be buying both games. A true racing fan will have both.

personally i'll make sure to do myself a favour and get both Forza3 & GT5... any racing fan with both consoles surely will do that too..

On which one is better, i find they have a different approach to racing but both (Forza2 & GT5p) delivered a great racing experience imo.. So it will be nice seeing which from GT5 & Forza3 will raise the bar once again..

Finally i have no doubts both games will deliver and end up being amazing racing titles..

personally i'll make sure to do myself a favour and get both Forza3 & GT5... any racing fan with both consoles surely will do that too..

You can rest assured, when the final version of Gran Turismo 5 arrives majority of negativity towards probably the most realistic driving simulator is going to stop.

Polyphony Digital has been in the market with GT franchise before anyone even realised it's possible.

There is a reason why it's the most sold Sony franchise, over 54 Millions.

You can call GT5 Prologue a demo all day long, those who have the game certainly have much different opinions. You name me a demo that has fully integrated 16 players online racing, the revolutionary dashboard in-car view and car psychics with over 80+ licensed cars.

Take a good look at Forza 2 details and try to say GT5 is a demo again...

Try to be rational and wait until you see what full release of Gran Turismo 5 has to offer. After that, make your judgements. I already know some details from my sources. If you though 400 cars in a lot, you haven't seen GT5 yet.

Time will show that Gran Turismo is more then capable of competing for #1 racing simulator. In fact, I have yet to see a game in scale of Gran Turismo offerings to car enthusiast.

Forza 3 looks good and I hope it does well. However, the absurd level of fanboys sometimes seriously makes me wonder how some people even call themselves gamers...

The gt series is old and boring. Too this date they still have no features modern racing simulators have.

There's so little known about all the details of GT5 that it's hard to say if it's in trouble or not. The Forza 3 demo at MS's conference does tap into what most of this gigantic racing game market loves, driving in cool cars that you could otherwise not afford. It ups it another notch by throwing in the ridiculously rich customization options which allow you to basically pimp your own ride. With overhaulin, pimp my ride and all of those other car makeover shows, who wouldn't want to try their own hand at prettying up an already beautiful car?

GT5 could obviously still include something equally rich in terms of customization. At this point i don't think the little details regarding which is the better driving sim matters anymore, since a vast majority of people who buy these games probably won't notice slight differences.

obviously the first picture has been decompressed in some way.. Look at the logo for starters and the resolution throughout the picture... Also Turn10 NEVER said there will be no jaggies..
