although that sounds great for people who are impressed by shouting numbers, i would rather see them make the best game they can in 720P. A great game is top priority, not a resolution.

Hasn't this been in development for 3 years already ? And they're just releasing a demo.
So are Cows to expect that games with any visual grunt to be in development for the same amount of time ? Is the PS3 really that poorly put together ?

Uncharted wasn't in development for three years. And it looks better than anything on the 360.

well it's slightly more than a demo it has 40 cars and 5 tracks but im sure they did this so they could milk the GT franchise as much as possible.[QUOTE="marklarmer"][QUOTE="mattyomo99"]http://n4g.com/gaming/News-91647.aspx

I really think they are just trying to milk the GT franchise as much as possible cause sony knows how much of a seller it is, but yeah I am annoyed if they stopped with this crap the full game would've been out by spring 08 instead we have to wait till holiday 08 at the earliest, wouldnt be surprised if THAT got delayed.gt5 prologue is a demo to the full game GT5 which is due out late 2008[QUOTE="mmirza23"][QUOTE="milsvaard"]Wait a sec. GT4 was in development for almost four years and it had three versions of Prologue released before hand. Polyphony uses a scrum process to develop each and every car in the game which can take 1-3 months with groups of 8-12 people working on one. They don't simply model the cars from measurements and pictures, they actually get hands-on time with the cars and drive time as well. With the rumored 800+ car list, it's understandable that this would take a sizable amount of time. GT4 had over 700 cars.
The real-life tracks in the game get the same amount of attention as well.

Its fake 1080p. 1080 pixals high but only 1440 wide.
They did the same thing in GT4. They did this to improve the image quality while doing less interpolation and antialiasing to produce a smoother image.

NO. Prologe and GT5 is the SAME GAME. Change the title and some worlding doesn't that long, a week tops.

As a fan of the Gran Turismo series, simply no. GT: HD and Prologue take no additional development time to produce. Prologue is made in tandem with the full game, using the same engine, resources, and assets. GT: HD was introducing new features on top of the GT4 engine, basically a playable alpha-release of GT5. It in no way represents GT5 however since it is using the old engine underneath.
Read my post above about Polyphony Digital's development process.

I must correct myself. GT HD was 1440x1080. Probably because it was on the GT4 engine. GT5: Prologue is 1280x1080. Thats just 30% more then regular 720p. I dont believe it has any AA either.

well it's slightly more than a demo it has 40 cars and 5 tracks but im sure they did this so they could milk the GT franchise as much as possible.More likely they are being pressured to release something that generates hype. Much like a demo of MGS4 would be good publicity....a demo that has 40 cars and 5 tracks could almost be qualified as a small game and would certainly draw postiveattention to the PS3 IF the game is as good as it has been hype to be.

Why would anyone pay money for a demo? Why don't they just give it away for free. Why would you pay money for a demo, then pay money again for the actual game? I don't get it.Number_1_Gamer

30%?
Regular 720p: 1280 x 720 = 921600
1280 x 1080 = 1382400
1382400/921600 = 1.5 = 50%

:| You guys don't realize or just haven't been around to know that Prologue is more than a demo, its the closest representaion of the final product and its great fan service. If you'd like dis-agree with that then just ask the people who've bought it in the past. The GT Prologue series sells more than most games.
if this means anything GT: HD was the free demo.

Did you read the TCs post?
what was it, 5 tracks 40 cars, and damage modelling.
GT5 will have over 30 tracks, 300 cars and more extensive damage modelling, plus an arcade mode, and more modes. Its a complete game(i think its coming out in may so thats a long wait, a lot of improvements etc).
Your not paying for the same game twice.

why pay for prologue if those cars and tracks will be in GT5 and with 'more extensive damage modelling', cows have yet to answer the question. and they say MS milks their customers.
