GT5 Sells over 7 Million worldwide O_O

wow i truly dont get how a racing game is this popular, Polyphony Digital confirms that GT5 have sold 7.3 Million units worldwide for the PS3 as of September of this year which means not counting black friday or this holiday sales :shock:.. thats not to mention the GT5P sold over 5 million alone which makes GT5 overall to over 12Million

maybe i should pick it up? not even a racing fan

It's a good game, and it's got the name to back it up. As for whether you should pick it up... that depends. Have you played racing games before? Which ones? Did you like them?charizard1605

I played like burnout which was on PSN for sale and Jak X, i think that was about it lol, i just dont find racing games that fun but i may just pick this up and see what te big deal is if it hit $19

Maybe its just not for me then :P, guess i'll forget about it and only consider it once it hit $9 or something, there far more important games for me to get

Fairly nice amount, I expect it to sell near 9 million before it starts to slow down. It's a great game,had a rough launch but damn did they change and fix a ton. Theyve added a to of new content too, it's ridiculous. I enjoy playing it every now and then.

That's a really solid number especially when comparing it to GT4 which has about 11 million units sold on the PS2.

gt5 is an amazingly beautiful racing game, if u dont own it u should, they cater to the community quite alot polyphony knows what their doing and do it well :D and im one of its first buyers :P proud of it, its just n overall great title...plus how can u not like cars...cars are sexy as hell!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't played GT5, but I heard from friends it has a big "PC mentality" with the patching. They just patch in a LOT of stuff post launch that turned the great into something entirely greater then before, instead of smaller patches for balance and stuff.

Crap tends to do well. look at cod and skyrim.

I've never played a Gran Turismo game since PS1 (or really any racing sim for that matter). I've never really felt like I am missing out but hey maybe I am :P

I do really like the Dirt series though.

It's a great game Final, but if your not into sim racers...you won't like it. To enjoy it fully you really need to invest in a racing wheel...imo.Midnightshade29

If you're hurting for money and not the kind who keeps games after beating them, I'd give Gamefly a go. Perfect for college students on a budget.

It is a decent and solid racing game.
Probably one the best racing game this gen.
Dirt 3 is also awesome

You can see why they took so long, with all the technical stuff added in.

Suggest you get it.

Many people buy Nintendo in the title.. as well other games that have the title..

GT5 is the best racer this gen.

Mario Kart Wii comes close but then its a HUGE dropoff after that.

They've done well in sales, despite the bad start they've had.

It's a great game. PD listens to the community, and has made lots of changes over the past year. There is another huge update coming Tuesday that will:

*Users can now change wheels on Standard cars The settings sheets will include a new 'copy' feature

*In GT Auto, players will be able to see how the oil changes, aerodynamic parts, engine overhauls, and racing modifications will affect performance points and engine power, before and after their application

*Free coupons have been added that allow you to wash cars, change oil, overhaul your engine, or refresh the car body in GT Auto (10 coupons will be distributed for free to each of those who have downloaded the 2.02 update)

*Pressing the Square button in the car coupon selection screen of the Car Delivery will now allow you to exchange all car coupons at once, rather than doing one at a time

*In screens where the [Garage] and [Driver List] buttons are displayed in the A/B Spec events, Special Events, and Seasonal Events, pressing the Square button will now show the [Garage], and pressing the Triangle button will bring up the drivers list

*In My Lounge, the room settings will feature a new 'Max. number of participants' setting

*In the event selection screen of seasonal events, there are now ☆(star) marks that show the number of Gold Trophies attained in each event

*Improved racing sound effects

*Elements of the steering assist controls (used when using certain controllers on Racing Karts) have been tweaked.
