trying to say something good here :X Fanboy error......won't..... let.....me. Only took like 10 years to make a racing game for the ps3.....thats better.
This post finally convinced me. GT5 sucks, PS3 Sucks. ScoreDoesn't change the fact the game is awful

I expected nearly twice that. Isn't this less than Halo: Reach? Before GT5:P you could say that the WORST selling GT sold way more than the BEST selling Halo.
Ah well, GT5 has at least surpassed MGS4 as the best selling PS3 exclusive.
240 hours in, and it's still pretty amazing. Most of the later A/B spec events turn into even better races and the seasonal events are always anticipated, welcome and come with a good pay out. 1000 cars includes a wide variety of vehicles of all class types, from Go karts, Kei Cars, Compacts, Hybrids, Electric cars, Hot Hatches, Sedans, Coupes, Sports Cars, Super Cars, Hyper Cars, GT1, GT3, Touring Cars, NASCAR, Les Man cars, F1 Cars, Fantasy Cars, amphibious cars, and even a Samba Bus. It has a lot of Japanese cars coming from a Japanese developer, predominately Nissans which is the Creator of the games favorite car and the Nissan GTR is a car that Kaz had a hand in designing and building and races irl including a 24 hr races at the Nurgring. You can paint cars with a new update you can change and paint the rim of standards, standard car cockpits and some good looking standard car open cockpits along with a popular, ever improving and still quite busy online functions kind of ensure that GT5 is a game that will have lasting appeal not only through the first year, but for years to come. I did really like the tracks as well as the weather in the Game too.

Standard cars are utter rubbish and endurance races are a grind.

Standard cars are utter rubbish and endurance races are a grind. Forza has no night racing or weather. If I had to choose I'd pick no livery over weather and night racing. Some of the best cars in the game are Standards, they look just as good as premiums while you race. If you don't like the standards that you're fault not PD's. Yes Endurance races are a grind, that's kind of why they are endurance races. Endurance races are not for the casual ADD player. If you can't man up and concentrate for that long, don't race them.
[QUOTE="Kashiwaba"]Or maybe because it was good and kept on getting better name alone doesn't make sell that much look at duke nukem once the bad word of mouth started spreading it stopped sellingfoxhound_foxThat's odd... I don't recall saying it was "name alone" that made it sell. But good try though.
You don't have to be that clear to understand what do you mean son with th new rules be brave just troll head on.

Well technically, if standard cars have no cockpit people would go chase cam, but because there is no livery editor, the car itself tends to look dull. Oh please I've played this game extensively to know that most standard cars have a better home on the ps2. Premiums look 10x better. My complaint is not that endurance races exist, but rather that they should've been in the Special events section.

Who races in chase cam? NO ONE who is half serious about driving games uses chase cam except for arcade games like Burnout or Split Second.
Can you tell which cars are standard in this photo and belongs on the PS2?
Endurace Races are Races not special events. And they come in their very own category in their very own menu. Lame Trolling attempt. You're really the first kid I've ever seen complain about endurance races...

LOL, of course I can't in photomode. But show me a live gt5 race screenshot between standard and premium and the difference is night and day. The fact that you need to complete all 15 endurance races x2 to get the trophy seems over the top whether you are dedicated or not, and the latter part of A/B spec is a grind whether you like it or not. Even Consolesimracing said this. Yes most people use Bumper view to get the best laptimes but there are those who use chase cam without fail.LOL, of course I can't in photomode. IronbashThe correct answer was all the cars were standard.
How about this Video Which cars are standard and which are premium? There is a mix. But I'm sure there will be an excuse as to why you can't tell.
The Trophy is for the hardcore, whether you like it or not. And the latter part of A/B Spec is not a Grind. I loved it. I ran and still run those races over and over with tons of different cars, and when I get a new car I run them again. If you didn't like it then maybe a Sim style Driving game is not for you. My Bspec has completed every race up to the 24 hour Nurburgring race, and I have completed every race up to the 9 Hour Tsukuba endurance. I'm still hunting for a few cars in UCD and don't want to lose my log in bonus because it would take me a few days to do the Tsukuba and a week or two to finish the 24 hour races.
wow i truly dont get how a racing game is this popular, Polyphony Digital confirms that GT5 have sold 7.3 Million units worldwide for the PS3 as of September of this year which means not counting black friday or this holiday sales .. thats not to mention the GT5P sold over 5 million alone which makes GT5 overall to over 12Million
maybe i should pick it up? not even a racing fan
http://thesilentchief.com/2011/12/16/worldwide-sales-of-gran-turismo-5-now-stand-at-7-3-million/
thoughts?
( oh look its not a JRPG thread! :o )

I wouldn't pick it up if you aren't in to racing games. I got it knowing it was meant to be a racing 'simulator' but I didn't realise how much of a simulator it was. Polyphony Digital seemed to have created an interesting simulator but forgot to add, you know, that fun game part of it...
