In an exclusive interview with 'JoyPad' (Jeu Video's official magazine), Kazinori Yamauchi of Polyphony, reveals some new information about Gran Turismo 5; all confirmed by the creator himself.  These include online between 12-20 players, 4 driving views, all Ferrai and F1 cars; and more....
Kazunori discusses this list of features for the upcoming PS3 exclusive Gran Turismo 5 (the list should be put in the rumour column for the moment, since this is from one persons translation of the magazine):

- All cars and tracks from GT4 will be included in GT5
- More cars and tracks should be downloadable
- 4 driving views
- Car damage
- All Ferrari+ F1 cars
- Porsche and Lamborghini brands to be confirmed
- Indianapolis may feature
- A game will be release before Gran Turismo 5, this is presumed to Gran Turismo 5 Prologue
- New city tracks
- Online drivers 12-20
- Dynamic weather during races

It took 4 games... but they finally are doing it... good. Too bad this will probably increase development time even further.

You get three guesses and the first two don't count... here's a hint... the phrase starts with "dedicated" and ends with "servers."

It will be released on time with everything promised. With GT5...we'll have to wait and see. I seem to remember cows getting excited about online play the last time.

True. You need a friends only room to make it work, public servers are just messy, with loads of idiots who don't care about ruining someone elses game.

GT5 is one of the few games that would make me get a PS3. To bad it wont come out on the 360 so I could save $600.

Yeah I know.  I can't imagine why they wouldn't have added 12 -20 player online games on the original playstation.

Quit trying to dodge the fact you knew I'm reffering to vehicle damage and weather. It's racing bumper cars.

I don't see what there is to get excited about... other sim racers have had most of these functions in the game already, it isn't like these are anything new

Your not missing out on much if you played GT3, GT4 was just GT3 instead with a 4 at the end of its title but this game seems to bring new elements to the series that will make it the best GT yet.

let the hypocrisy continue. when the lemmings were stating that forza 2 had car damage (so did PGR 3) you cows were saying car damage/damage models don't matter. now that this rumor has surfaced, all cows are doing an about-face and hyping damage modeling. gee, i wonder where polyphony got the idea for dynamic weather from *cough* PGR 4 *cough*.

You have to be joking. PGR is almost a pure copy of the gran turismo series. Also why am I called a cow? I just showed this news :(.

first, PGR is not a copy of the GT series because PGR is an arcade racer, GT is a simulator. second, i never specifically called you a cow. i was regarding cows in general like the one's in this thread that are now hyping damage modeling.

forza allows you to upgrade every part of your car and the performance coincides with the parts used and how they interact with other parts, not just throw in a new part and the car goes into a new class. pc and console games both have scenes with weather but the interaction and dynamic weather are both relatively new. wet courses in older racing games merely tone down the friction force of the tires to the road. dynamic weather effects allows for the cars to adjust to the track/road in realtime.

yes, and all that you have just mentioned, forza took from the GT series.
and PGR isn't even a sim, so who really cares about dynamic weather in that game. Performance isn't even real.

forza took the driving physics and car performance from gt and improved upon them but forza has damage modeling, something the gt series never had. the dynamic weather would first be introduced by PGR 4 and will later be used for gt 5 if this rumor is to be true. as i stated eariler, pgr is an arcade racer, not a sim. it does not need true to life physics, just enough to make it seem that you're not playing bumper cars. pgr is ms' version of ridge racer except with real cars.

Dunno if I would pray for it to be true, per se, but I certainly hope so, I have all four GT games and graphics upgrades aside the gameplay and features seem to be trapped two generations in the past.

dynamic weather was already used by test drive le mans on dreamcast in 2001, so if anything PGR stole it from there. You're making it as if they created this.

they already mentioned that at TGS and that always a constant agenda. GT4 already had good car specific physics anyways.

I'll say it again GT was not the first racing game in history but if you are a 15 year old Cow you might think so...if Forza and PGR stole from GT...then GT stole from NFS and everyother racing game before it...

[QUOTE="latinrage69"]let the hypocrisy continue. when the lemmings were stating that forza 2 had car damage (so did PGR 3) you cows were saying car damage/damage models don't matter. now that this rumor has surfaced, all cows are doing an about-face and hyping damage modeling. gee, i wonder where polyphony got the idea for dynamic weather from *cough* PGR 4 *cough*.SupraGT

thats like saying forza copied gt tire wear. or forza copied gt in upgrading performance. and diddnt some pc games already have this weather effect feature?

forza allows you to upgrade every part of your car and the performance coincides with the parts used and how they interact with other parts, not just throw in a new part and the car goes into a new class. pc and console games both have scenes with weather but the interaction and dynamic weather are both relatively new. wet courses in older racing games merely tone down the friction force of the tires to the road. dynamic weather effects allows for the cars to adjust to the track/road in realtime.

yes, and all that you have just mentioned, forza took from the GT series.
and PGR isn't even a sim, so who really cares about dynamic weather in that game. Performance isn't even real.

forza took the driving physics and car performance from gt and improved upon them but forza has damage modeling, something the gt series never had. the dynamic weather would first be introduced by PGR 4 and will later be used for gt 5 if this rumor is to be true. as i stated eariler, pgr is an arcade racer, not a sim. it does not need true to life physics, just enough to make it seem that you're not playing bumper cars. pgr is ms' version of ridge racer except with real cars.

dynamic weather was already used by test drive le mans on dreamcast in 2001, so if anything PGR stole it from there. You're making it as if they created this.

i'm not saying they invented it so stop putting words in my mouth. what i'm saying is bizarre creations is the first dev to implement it in a next-gen racing game.

[QUOTE="DXGreat1_HGL"] So it took this racing sim 5 games and 3 generations to finally do things that should have been in place in the 1st one?DXGreat1_HGL

Yeah I know.  I can't imagine why they wouldn't have added 12 -20 player online games on the original playstation.

Quit trying to dodge the fact you knew I'm reffering to vehicle damage and weather. It's racing bumper cars.

PS1 was way too weak for damage, PS2 was too weak to have damage for those models, maybe PS3 will be strong enough.
