Well for starters new gfx engine, game-play mechanics : cover system, targeting, "rumor" use of car interior (trunk), functional cell phone for calling and receiving call's,new wanted system and allot more thing that are not being mentioned yet I think.
I think those thing's are enough to take GTA to status of GTAIV.
P.S. The city will be alive IMO nothing you have see before :D or at least the AI will be better then in AC :P

In-game internet that the player can access and catch up on the goings on.
From the trailers I've seen, it seems like R* is trying to add some morality to the series.
Instead of just blindly destorying everything in sight (though you'll obviously have that option:P) it sounds like you'll have to make some hard-hitting moral choices while playing GTA4....possibly with branching storylines and all the fancy crap that comes with games of this nature.
I dunno, I may be way off-base but that's just the impression I get from the way the main character was introduced. He seems more reluctant to do crime than the previous characters...
Not much but...
I think now you could climb vertical things, like poles and stuff.
There's also the euphoria engine(not sure),which makes enemies smarter and they try to grab on things when the get knocked off...Also some physics related to that engine.
I hope they get rid of the lock-on targeting system.crazyjames1080I saw someone else say that. Why?

It doesn't feel intuitive IMO especially when you are locked on and running and while you can manually aim in SA, you have to move the analogue stick away from the target which is a pain. Meh, maybe other people like it that way.:P

Well some press where able to see gun fight. There was this over the shoulder targeting system+cover system ( GeoW style )
Okay, thanks guys for the info. I knew I didn't know a lot of things, because R* aren't hacks. Oh, and I heard the Euphoria engine? That's a winner in my eyes already 8). Oh, and to the people making witty, smart-ass comments to my OP, you really need to take them and shove 'em up your %$&. :P But it's System Wars I guess, so whatever.FrozenLiquid
make othe rtopic titles if you don't want those comments. you get what you ask for.
Guys I was wondering, Grand Theft Auto 2 to 3 was a gigantic leap. No one's going to deny that, because you can't. Now Vice City and Sandreas had small, but valued improvements over the GTA III formula. But obviously, from R*'s perspective, it's not enough to warrant calling them IV and V respectively. So, what does GTA IV have that entitles it to be an 'official' sequel in the GTA series? Does anyone have any info? Honestly, I can't see anything other than it having better graphics, and being back at LIberty City. Discuss.FrozenLiquidUm, because its going to be on next-gen hardware?

Are u a fan of the series? Same crap said about so many games... sorry but kind of annoying IMO
Why do games have to be different or innovative to be great? GTA is already great. It is when corporate people try to change a great thing that great games or shows or movies are ruined and turned to garbage. San Andreas was better than VC IMO except for the music selection compared to VC.

Comeon the gameplay is stuck in the stone ages by now. They had been using the same engine and the same gameplay for over seven years. If the game doesn't strike me as evolved in any way I will be incredibly disappointed. Just because the gameplay works doesn't mean you shouldn't try and do the right thing and make it better. Please Log In to post.
