[QUOTE="Doolz2024"]How can you not call EFLC exclusive? Is EFLC available on any other system besides the 360? LaD no longer counts as a 360 exclusive, but EFLC does, unless of course it also becomes available for PC at some point.Doolz2024

Same reason Mrtroid prime trilogy doesnt count as a exclusive. TBOGT is exclusive but TLAD and EFLC are not.

lol, whatever. I've never heard of anything only available on one platform that wasn't considered exclusive. EFLC only on 360! But it's not exclusive... :?

its very simple. when you buy EFLC you get TBOGT and TLAD there is no game called EFLC (look at the box it says "two complete game" not 3"

TheMetroid prime trilogy doesn't count as an exclusive here because the first two games are available on the gamecube and with EFLC its the same (one out of the twois not exclusive there for the package doesnt count)

To give them a $200 - $300 alternative to the PC.

Again those ridiculous "Microsoft own PC Gaming" arguments.

I don't see any reason why Rockstar wouldn't release the expansion pack for the PS3 too.

HuusAsking

How about the fact Microsoft would immediately demand all the money back from Rockstar--plus penalties for breach of contract?

They already paid MS back, the money was just a loan from MS.

Or so that's what was said from the two companies.

Lemmings lose another AAAE from the spreadsheet that probably shouldn't have been there in the first place. Same old same old from MS and lemmings keep falling for it... Just buy a pc guys... Unless you love Halo that much.

Its still exclusive. TLAD PC is part of Games for Windows and Live, and iti s being sold through the PC live marketplace, so it is still exclusive to Microsoft.

Microsoft earns no royalties from it. None whatsoever, so how can it be exclusive to them? :?

They don't own PC gaming, as many companies are involved. Even Sony builds PCs.

I'm not sying EFLC is no longer exclusive, just correcting a somewhat ridiculous claim.

[QUOTE="SecretPolice"]GTA EFLC remains exclusive. :P

SecretPolice

No, it won't remain exclusive. $20 exclusive dlc doesn't count on system wars. $40 worth of exclusive content counts, but not $20.

 Yikes, okay, let me know when GTA EFLC, ( ya know, the title that GS reviewed )hits the PC then 360 lost an exclusive. Until that time..... :P

The only content that's exclusive is Gay Tony. Sorry but $20 content doesn't count on system wars.

The real point is the content. Call it whatever you like, but it's still the same game. So now the only part of the content that's exclusive is Ballad of Gay Tony.

I think the argument goes something like this.

If a game on one platform comprises the essential part of the game on another platform, then neither game is exclusive. This is why collector's editions, revamped ports (ES, ToV, the NGSigmas), and so on blank out first-run versions.

If a game comprises an anthology, it is only exclusive if all the included games reside on one and only one platform. That's why the MPrime trilogy is not exclusive (because two of the volumes are on the GameCube). This is the argument against EFLC. Half of its content, TLAD, is going multiplat (since PC counts as a platform). Furthermore, this raises the prospect of BoGT also jumping in the near future.

But it's still denied to Sony and Nintendo, pretty much. I think that's the point being driven. PC games are more likely to encourage sales of Windows than sales of VAIO PCs. And Nintendo wants no part of PCs.

If an exclusive game (EFLC) is no longer 100% exclusive in its content (LATD on PC) then cant see how it is exclusive anymore.

I dont have a link persay, but even the dd verisons of GTA 4 have to have Live to save, so extending that, the marketplace is also including in DD versions of GTA 4, so every version has Live and marketplace, so I am assuming that the marketplace is where TLAD will be distributed. Though I could be wrong.

Well if it is distributed on other DD services, which is likely. The only money Microsoft would earn would be from distributing it through their network, which by extension could also make the game a Valve exclusive, or D2D exclusive, as it'll likely be offered through those aswell.

Microsoft charge no royalties for carrying the GfW branding.

In this case they do because TLAD is part of a 50 million dollar contract, and I am sure Microsoft is porting TLAD to the PC for a reason.

The 50 million was a loan and we are not privy to the details of the contract. It very well could have just been timed-exclusivity.

The 50 million has nothing to do with whether the game is MS exclusive, due to the fact that they earn $0 from the release of TLAD on PC, unless it's through their download service for providing it.

Thing is, no one's ever argued Sony exclusivity since Sony owns all the platforms involved. It's only the PC, which is nominally Microsoft territory (due to the dominance of Windows), that arguments flare.

Umm R* Has to Repay that $50m that microsoft gave them either way. See back in 2006-2007 the company publishing GTA games was in a bit of a financial pickle, so MS being the very generous company it is, decided hey...here's $50m buuttttt you have to give us GTAIV exclusive...and TT was like... lol no... so they're like can we get at least some DLC? and they were like I guess sure but you have to repay us the money back via sales generated by the DLC...and TT was like Ok fine. And thus GTAIV Exclusive DLC was born for the 360...but apparantly due to sales floppage it will be on the PC and possibly the Trey down the road.

You realize it's released for Windows, so it's in Microsoft's best interest to bring games to their other platform, the PC. So it's Microsoft exclusive/

half of episodes from liberty city isn't exclusive anymore. The other half is a 20 dollar DLC expansion that is still exclusive. So it's a more unique case. I'd say Episodes from Liberty City isn't exclusive since we KNOW now that BoGT is going to PC. NO way in hell TLAD does, and BoGT doesn't.

Hmm. That's odd, why just Lost and Damned and not not Ballard of Gay Tony? It appears will have to remove Episodes from Liberty City, and replace it with BoGT.

[QUOTE="anshul89"]No, it won't remain exclusive. $20 exclusive dlc doesn't count on system wars. $40 worth of exclusive content counts, but not $20.

anshul89

 Yikes, okay, let me know when GTA EFLC, ( ya know, the title that GS reviewed )hits the PC then 360 lost an exclusive. Until that time..... :P

The only content that's exclusive is Gay Tony. Sorry but $20 content doesn't count on system wars.

Thanks for the heads up and umm the furthering of my point... GTA EFLC Exclusive confirmed - never thought you would agree but ... hey, cool stuff amigo. :)

Microsoft doesn't make a cent from games released for PC, so it doesn't own PC.

While you're at it why not make every single game exclusive to your electicity supplier?

It's weird I know, that greedy evil **** called MS doesn't make a dime on those GFW titles and yet....?

MS is a modern day saint I guess.

Who da thunk it?

Let me know when God of War Collection hits any other system, until then, it's a PS3 exclusive...
