Halo and GTA as they are on consoles are barely even the same games as they were on PC...

So now I would have just said "so what?" but instead I will use a little logic.

I am a PC gamer through and through but I have to raise the question "If all of these games were originally on the PC and then moved to consoles, what does that say about PC gaming?". Was the PC not good enough? Were they not selling well enough? Is the PC infact dying?

I don't agree with any of those questions I just posted, I am just showing how a little logic can make your whole "argument" backfire.

Call of Duty (series) sucks.

Oops, I blasphemed. No, seriously. Call of Duty 2 sucks. It's online mode is a flaming stillbirth. COD4 is better, but it still is deficient in good. The stat and ranking systems are fine, but the matchmaking and leveling systems are both piss-poor and cause a seriously lopsided balance while limiting your ability to choose the weapons that suit your playstyle until you've put 30 hours into the game.

The actual gameplay is currently being sat upon by Red Orchestra Ost-Front, which has superior shooting, tactics, and general gameplay mechanics.

I also love the "Kill button," as I like to call it. Click the right analog stick, kill anything in an arc with a three foot radius. OMFG THIS IS TEH SHOOTER AR TEH GENERATION.

Nadespam+martyrdom is FTL as well.

Not to mention GTA and Halo being total weaksauce as well. Honestly, though, I'd probably rather own Halo than Call of Duty 4, and I am possibly the biggest Halo detractor on the cosmodome.

Um....like Mass Effect, Jade Empire, Fable, and Final Fantasy VII?

I don't think so, mate. That was an overexaggeration from the word go and doesn't really add anything to system wars anyway.

I think the point that should be maintained is that PC games are the best simply by merit of being PC games and the perks that go along with that fact. It should also be maintained that PC has the best online and is the best gaming platform.

Shun consoles and win.

Nah its true about halo, even though it wasn't nearly close to finished. GTA started on the PC, then got a PSX port.

And Heavenly Sword started on Xbox....this doesn't appear to have helped the Xbox.

And didn't Halo originate as a Mac title? Ooh, all hail the Mac. Oh, wait, I found my common sense.

And Metal Gear began on NES.

I don't understand how this even begins to contribute to the discourse.

It's very possible that Mass Effect was actually built on the PC first and ported to the 360. There may be evidence of this with the framerate issues and massive texture pop-ins in the 360 version (even by UE3 engine standards), as well as the long load times, and they're releasing the PC version particularly quickly.

Halo: Bungie was developing Halo for the PC first before evil Microsoft bought the studio and brought halo to the xbox

COD: was made by IW for PC only before branching out to teh consoles in later versions

GTA: the first GTA was also only on PC from a birds eye view looking straight down. It was a cult classic.

actually halo was origionally going to be a mac-based RTS, then they started to make it as a FPS for the PS2 but they couldent get it to work right so it ended up on the xbox

all games are built on the PC. there are no games that are crated on the x360. they are made on the PCs

also: UE3 = unreal engine 3

you dont need to say UE3 engine

Yea Nintendo saved gaming with consoles...

I'm not praising consoles; I'm trying to draw a line between what consoles did for gaming and what PCs did.

Stop being defensive. :)

People here fly off the chain and think that PCs are EVERYTHING for gaming.

And Metal Gear began on NES.

I don't understand how this even begins to contribute to the discourse.

No, Halo didn't start off as a mac title, Metal Gear started on nes but MGS started on PSX.

The TC's comment are being disputed, how else? He's not really saying much anyway.
