GTA: IV 360 vs PS3 visual differences revealed!!!

For the first time, Rockstar gave us hands-on access to both the PS3 and 360 versions of GTA IV. The good news is that no matter which system you prefer, you're going to have a great-looking game to play. There are only some minor visual differences noticeable between the two preview versions. The 360 build is brighter and has slightly more vibrant color while the PS3 build has less aliasing issues. Both display a solid, consistent framerate even during scenes with heavy pedestrian traffic and wild explosions. While graphics whores will find subtle differences to nitpick, the average Joe is going to be happy with either version.

I'd rather have less aliasing but I'll settle for the 360 version only because I have friends that own a 360 (MP) and of course the exclusive content is a plus.

Nonono, Aliasing is bad. That's why video cards apply anti-aliasing.

I have no idea what version to buy. I am leaning towards the 360 version more though, because of the DLC.elmafia

Ps3 for me since thats what I got, GTA should be I nice opener to this summers headline act IMO mgs4

and if the ps3 has less vibrent colours cant you... you know.... change the settings on the TV?

So basically it's still 360 > PS3 with this mulitplat game.

Achievements - adds more replay value.

Rumble - comes out of the box, you don't have to wait for a new controller that rumbles when it should've been there from the get go and you could've use that money to buy the exclusive episodic content if they charge for it.

Headsets - everyone will have headsets, so games will be more organize.

Custom sound tracks - just a nice extra feature, so you could cruise the streets of Liberty City listening to your own music without worrying about plugging in an ipod and have to manually change songs on the ipod while you could change the songs with the 360 controller while you're playing.

Exclusive episodic content - the PS3 version will have a beginning and an ending, but the 360 version will live on and continue with these episodes.

Err..yeah, they signed for two episodic content. The rest of the DLC will be multiplat. Who honestly knows what "Episodic Content" means, it could range from Half Life 2 episodes to weapon packs and mission packs.

If any version would have had aliasing issues i would have said PS3, thats supprised me.

Ill probably be picking this up for 360 if it has multiplayer features, so i can play with friends, ill wait for the reviews before i make a choice though.

Its unlcear. Both consoles will get DLC, but the 360 will get additional exclusive DLC.

Im sold for the 360 version because of custom soundtracks and DLC

Glad to hear there isnt that much difference though. If i pick it up, it will depend on whether Sony has Home/in game xmb out by then. I can take or leave the extra content, but i could really use custom soundtracks in a game like GTA.

Of course, we don't know the detail of any episodic content. It could turn out that the exclusive content are two new cities, and the multiplat episodes are new weapons, and differently coloured weapons

here's an interesting queston: will the 360 exclusive content be fully exclusive or just timed exclusive like how the gta3 series was playstation2 "exclusive"?GunSmith1_basic

I suspect it'll be permanent exclusive. You don't pay $50 million in order to have a timed exclusive, then again..Microsoft is rich enough to do that.

In this case its foggy microsoft PAID for the content, otherwise its up to the dev and all ways has been, The dev has final say on all pricing of content *except in this case maybe* epic had final say, microsoft pushed for money charged for the content BUT epic could have pushed back and said FREE and microsoft could have done nothing about it if they really wanted the content on they're network.

This time around microsoft will likely have a bigger say in the matter cause they specifically paid for this content, otherwise content pricing is final say to the DEV.
