you sir are a smart man i mean buy the 360 version and then wait 4 months for dlc. but im glad you see what lemmings are not seeing

So wait you're saying if he has both the 360 and PS3, it's smart to buy the PS3 version $60 bucks and then when the exclusive episodic content arrives he'll buy the same game for the 360 $60 bucks later on?

once again im a girl, and im in the uk not usa so i wont be payin no $60 about £35.99 for the ps3 version, and i dont recall sayin ill be gettin the 360 AS SOON AS the contents out either

So basically it's still 360 > PS3 with this mulitplat game.

Achievements - adds more replay value.

Rumble - comes out of the box, you don't have to wait for a new controller that rumbles when it should've been there from the get go and you could've use that money to buy the exclusive episodic content if they charge for it.

Headsets - everyone will have headsets, so games will be more organize.

Custom sound tracks - just a nice extra feature, so you could cruise the streets of Liberty City listening to your own music without worrying about plugging in an ipod and have to manually change songs on the ipod while you could change the songs with the 360 controller while you're playing.

Exclusive episodic content - the PS3 version will have a beginning and an ending, but the 360 version will live on and continue with these episodes.

ReverseCycology

This is how I feel about the whole thing.

To be honest, there's DLC on both systems. Depends which you prefer really :|

and wat content is the ps3 getting? i thought it was 360 that gets the exclusive content? :S

There's going to be other episodic content that goes multiplat, there's two going exclusive.

Stop making up crap. I've never heard that ANYWHERE.

There will be content on the PS3, but NOTHING like the 360 versions hours and hours of bonus content.

Yeah prettymuch what you'd expect. And funny thing is the 360 color advantage probably doesn't even exist with RGB full and proper setup.

There will be DLC for the PS3 version, but that could be anything. DLC could mean new cars, clothing weapons, whatever...Episodic content is a specific type of DLC. And I have never heard the term "episodic content" being mentioned for anything but the 360 version. While it is entirely possible that the PS3 will have episodic content of it's own one day, Rockstar has never mentioned it for the PS3 yet.

Makes me tempted for the ps3 version then. I found the gritty and dull look of gta 3 amazing. The atmosphere would be awesome.

Less aliasing is probably due to post-processing. Colors being more/less vibrant can be changed on the display.

I don't believe MS for one second that the episodic content is going to be like San Andreas/Vice City. GTA 3 (all of them) on the PS2 grossed over 1 billion dollars in game sales. Rockstar isn't stupid, they're not going to cut themselves off from a huge revenue stream.

It does seem pretty likely that the episodic content may feature new characters and plot lines. I wouldn't expect more then 15-20 hours of gameplay out of the episodic content. Yet another example of MS promising absurd things.

Congratulations. Why are you buying the PS3 version? Is it because you want to experience it on the PS3 and maybe compare it, or for possible DLC content on the PS3 that you think won't be on the 360 or what? I'm just curious as to why you would buy two versions of the same game.

You could also plug in your own ipod or sound system and play your own custom music with the PS3, but why when you don't have to plug in anything or adjust anything with the 360 version.

Is this "color" issue something that can be resolved with HDMI and full RGB settings? when color is mentioned, buzzers go off in my head, because my PS3 games look noticably better with full RBG on HDMI.

Sorry I adjusted my tv just right. It's not my fault that you have to adjust the display settings with the PS3 version when it should've looked perfect out the box like the 360 version. And when you're done finishing the game, do you have readjust the settings so other games will look normal, I don't think so.

i thought that in game xmb would have custom soundtracks, and home will have achievments. rumble...coming in new bundles and is avaible to purchase before gta4 comes out. if you need a second controller...

and headsets...is every cod4 game on the 360 automatically better than every cod4 game on the ps3? plus gta has never had multiplayer per say (it was pretty crappy in san andreas) so the focus isnt on the mp but on the sp.

both have issues, i need to do the full rgb on the ps3 to make it brighter, but with the 360 i was playing at a friends house with a cable connecting it to his monitor, and i had to manually set the 360 to output at 720 cause it was displaying at 480 and looking pretty bad.

PS3 with RGB+Hdmi= more vibrant colors than 360. So i'm definately going to get the PS3 version with the best graphics for me, i really don't like too see a lot of jaggies. I'm really starting to wonder how much the 360 DLC is going to cost, supposedly the PS3 will be getting its for free. But i doubt its anything as expansive as 2 donloadable episodes on a game that already takes OVER 40+ hours to complete( what is that 3x more than Mass Effect?).

I care more about having less aliasing, but besides that, I have one of those TVs with "game mode" as well as HDMI. "Game mode" seems to make the colour and constrast look better, and improves visibility in dark areas, so I'm guessing it will look just as good on the PS3?

Also I don't care about getting extra content because I'm sure the game will be easily big enough.

I'm not a graphics whore, I played Zelda: TP and didn't mind the graphics. It's just if you have both a 360 and PS3, you have to decide which one you would prefer.

Ok I'm getting the PS3 version. It will be the first time I've bought a PS3 multi-plat. Mostly I've been getting 360 versions of games simply because they released earlier.

Yeah, I find this whole "DLC is the size of [insert expression here]" thing suspicious.

Are they trying to measure in terms of area, of play-time, of extra missions, of....What?

Microsoft consumers are playing fast and loose with the definition when they're not even totally sure what the DLC actually is?

And he's saying that if you want the so called complete game, you HAVE to buy the 360 version.

yeah and then wait 4 months for those episodes that so call complete the game its not like you get those day one from xbox live. so its wait for the missions. or buy the ps3 version that the same unless you want to go all extreme tech geek about all the colors and crap.
