Does everyone here know that genetically speaking blue and green are actually the same color? I found that out in an organic chemistry class I took in school. Statistically they are always grouped together due to this.

I'm sorry, but either your teacher is incompetent and didn't explain it fully or you misunderstood. Let me guess, the teacher showed the diagram with a box with 4 little boxes inside the big one, and the top had 2 letters probably something like Bb the side had another 2 letters. Although the blonde hair is very improbable if not impossible the green eyes is very possible. The diagram they showed you is a very very very simplified version of the theory of inheritance of traits. The green and blue eyes are recessive genes as I'm sure you were taught. However as I'm sure you can imagine genetics are more complicated than that. There are many more factors in eye color, just like there is NOT just Brown, Blue, and Green eyes. There are many in betweens. Science has not discovered all the secrets of gentics yet. If the offspring is mixed, and if the parent of African decent is also mixed( with white of course) then it is very possible to have green eyes. Although I have never seen an African American with blue eyes, I have seen many with green eyes. So it is very possible for African Americans to have green eyes. Once again, Scientists do not fully comprehend genetics. I am honored to have taught you that your teacher is incorrect in explaing inheritance.scarface1123
