[QUOTE="dubvisions"] And to your new question: "How many PC games ship on multiple DVD9s?" Probably not very many, any more. I think that now that most people have PC's in the GB and not the MB that developers take advantage of the PC's hard drive. Which I already stated earlier.
You have a particluar point you're trying to prove and its failing, hard. Why don;t you take a little break, take adeep breath, and tell yourself, "I'm a good person, I'm good looking, and darnit, people love me." Then come back and see if you can make some sense.

Oh man....the courage online anonymity gives you is downright hilarious! Yup, typical cow. :)
All that ranting and still no answer to my original question: Do you know why PC games install info on the HDD yet still ship on a single DVD9?
Is it because DVD9 is not enough? Or because the HDD's speed is far greater than an optical disc speed?

First off, its probably due to both. They can compress the hech out of stuff and put it on the DVD9 and then it get uncompressed on the HDD. And yes, the HDD makes speed a a lot better and reduces the possibility of multiple discs. Look back a few years, lets say 10. Back then large capacity HDD weren;t in abundance. Back then mulitple discs for a PC game was normal. I think, as games get more intense in larger worlds, mor capacity is needed. But when you have some players with consoles that have small HDD's and small disc capacity, there will be an issue.
As to my online bravery, there is none. I didn;t challange you to a fight did I? I'm not a 14 year old 90 lb. kid.
