Yeah, that would be the anti GTA... gotta have dat freedom... Honestly, every video Ive seen of GTA5 combat has looked like my gripes about GTA4 have been addressed... it actually looks fun to play.

How does a fixed camera take away freedom?

GTA TDM will just be a cheap frills affair. Nothing too hardcore or skill based really I'd imagine. The main meat of the online won't be TDM anyway

The main meat will include lots of shooting though.

Shooting mechanics are based on Max Payne 3 so I see no problem whatsoever.

Here's my question:

Will I be able to free roam and cause chaos with 2-16 players and build up a 5 star rating and have the police and army come after us?

I really hope so, because it's what made saints row 2,3, and 4 so amazingly fun. GTA 4 didn't have anything like that (couldn't free roam with cops and army involved).

Sounds promising but Gta 4 online also sounded promising back then. I can't remember how many times I said stuff like this and ended up disappointed. "Metal gear online! What could go wrong?" "Super smash bros with online would be the biggest thing since halo" "Bomberman online will be awesome because jetters was amazing"

You can also view other players' wanted level chases from your TV in your apartment/house.

lol naughty dog....uncharted and the last of us cant hold a candle to GTA. i was done with those games after i beat them. replay value sucks and the online is bad.

I haven't played The Last of Us yet and probably never will but the Uncharted games left a very sour, unsatisfied after taste in my mouth. The gameplay was just flat. COD's gameplay has more deph than that series. It is amazing how far games can get on just flashy graphics alone.

because they make more fun games and people like nintendo have a large catalog of hit games in their history. rockstar has a good handfull. Rahnyc4

Uninspired rehashes do not count as "fun games".

I disliked the Uncharted games for the same reasons you did. I cannot make this more clear: TLOU is nothing like Uncharted. The shooting is impactful, visceral, and exciting. The gameplay in general is very intense and atmospheric. The story is heart-breaking and beautiful. I was expecting a disaster of a game but TLOU wowed me. IMO, it's the best PS3 exclusive title.

One of my favorite games of all time. I wish ND started on this path earlier, makes uncharted look like trash.

You could do that and was pretty much the most fun thing about online. You and a friend could fight the cops together and if one died you could be down around the cops and watch them take on your friend or start taking the cops on again. It was possible to join a game that was setup with no cops on which might have been your problem. Also in V it sounds like you could be trying to do a race or a heist and other players could be having the cops going after them which could mess up what you're doing.
