Apparently it's 30FPS which sucks

Doesn't matter too much for GTA, doesn't exactly require low latency. I mean, RDR was fine on Ps3, imo. LA Noire was locked at 30 fps and I didn't even notice on pc until I started up afterburner. Sometimes it just doesn't matter that much. Albeit, I would certainly prefer 60 fps. I'm not going to defend that 30 fps is better than 60 fps.

I'm sure the PC version will be unlocked, though.

I noticed that as well. GTA4 on PC run fine when I locked it to 30 for FRAPS. The only game I've ever played that did that.

Still don't wanna go through the campaign again. And the multiplayer is weak.

This is my problem too. I liked the campaign even tho it didnt have much to do and there is too much driving around. Even tho I liked playing the story, i dont exactly want to go back and do it all over again.

And i was majorly disappointed with the multiplayer, it was throw away and actually worst than GTA4 (that shit was fun). I only played the Multiplayer for one day (and i got the game like 6 months after release so it wasnt durring the period when it was broken and they had to give people in-game currency to make up for lost time, everthing had already been fixed when i got the game). I was lame and too complicated.

What I dont get is why this re-release isnt coming with like free DLC stuff? At least TLoU came with all the free DLC to try to justify the price and excuse to play more of the game other than just the main campaing that you already played.

I dot wanna get this game again that i already beat for $50-$60 and also have to pay for DLC separate too.

Stop whining, there's nothing wrong with improving aesthetics.

If it were a console exclusive remake, I wouldn't defend it. But in this case, they're porting it to PC, a wise choice. Obviously they would have to improve the engine to satisfy 2014 PC standards, while simultaneously making a decent remake for both current gen consoles. It's logical.

But you can easily vote with your money, I guess. Don't buy remakes if you don't support the idea. I don't, either. But I do support PC ports.

I would love to play this game at 60 FPS though. Considering I only enjoyed the technical aspects of it, 60 FPS would be beautiful icing on the cake.

Idk man, it's hard to know if the trade off would be worth it. that extra 30 fps means half of the foliage, draw distance, water, textures, what have you.

Nothing wrong with improving aesthetics, but if that's ALL you improve then i hardly think it's a trend i want to see keep happening.

According to the OP they will add "new" content too.

In my case I really can't complain. They are porting to PC. It's what almost every PC gamer wanted (many won't admit it)! I didn't buy it for PS3 because I really expected it to come to PC, sucks that we had to wait so long.

why aren't people complaining that we just played this game a year ago?

I think it's pretty stupid that we're getting a PC port of a 2013 game in 2015. Imagine if you knew in 2011 that you wouldn't be able to play it on PC until 2015.

But whatever, there's plenty more games coming out between now and then that I'd rather play.

Well yeah. They probably did build the next gen additions primarily at the beginning and simply scaled them back for the PS3/360 release. And turn them back on for the PC/Next gen release.

However, I don't think this game was a fully realized 'next gen' GTA. In the sense that GTA 4 was compared to GTA San Andreas where the whole mechanics, animation, and content pipeline was built for next gen development. Sure, there are more cars and wildlife on this version, but the primary game art will be the same. I doubt the car poly counts are different. They might be, but I doubt it. Same with character models etc.

I'm not downplaying the fact that this is the best upgrade to a last gen game we have seen, and it's one of my all time favorites. I'm just saying it's not a different game developed seperatly to the PS3/360 version. In fact i'd say at least 90% of the PS3/360 game content was reused.

It's pretty clear that polygon counts have increased. The detail on the dashboard of the car also includes more edges, not just a texture change.

Remember it's always better to create higher poly models and apply down scaling to them. That's actually how most modelers work. Just because the in-game version is lower poly doesn't mean the assets were created that way.

We'll see. But I reserve my judgement that GTA 5 'next gen' is not representative of what an 8th gen GTA game definitively will look like.

Oh probably not. The game has been in development for a few years now. The the rendering tech they used is probably pretty out of date and they didn't know what kind of specs or hardware they were going to be working with for the next gen consoles.

That said, GTA V had some pretty good rendering going on despite being on the PS3/360. The jump we'll see will be massive. Removing the majority of the prebaking of light and shadows is going to drastically change the look of each scene.

Can someone explain to me why remastering The Last of Us is so frowned upon but remastering an even newer game in GTA V is so awesome?
