But yeah, im not surprised at all, companies always do this. All of the 10/10 reviews got Rockstar so much money in terms of sales I bet.
Its just not right though. I know its right that it enables the mags to make some good money but its kind of like the whole cheating thing with the NBA refs that went on last year. Something has to be done. Also, the mags lose credit for their reputation but who else is there to rely on for reviews anymore? As far as the general public goes you can't really rely on those reviews. Not that I always relyed on reviews anyway but its a shame that a company is able to get away with this thing and I doubt the game would of surpassed that of the halo 3 sales in the first week which was around $300 million while GTA4 is sitting at $500 million.
Oh, I never said it was right. Im one of the people who thinks that we need to do something serious in Gaming Journalism and really turn it around if we want the mainstream crowd and the general public to take video games seriously. Look at stuff like movie and book reviews, they are always very varied unless the movie is really fantastic or it's really bad. But I mean come on, when do you see a game get the same score every where? When a huge game like this comes out, yet I read the reviews and they still have complaints and they give it a perfect score. Personally I think a grading system from A-F would be better suited since no game is perfect.
OMG... What is wrong with Gamespot Users... ITS AN OPINION... GET OVER IT... Nothing in that article proved (Or truly even said) that Rockstart was " REVIEW RIGGING"... THREAD/
It wasn't an article, it was a podcast :|
