its still great.

still playing it.

BUT i cant help feel that its just keeping me entertained untill the big "guns" are released on june 12th.

(see what I did there.. "guns" june 12th... clever)

I'll probably beat that "big gun" once and never play it again. MGO can't compete with GTA IV online. Snoozefest!

I just feel that it doesn't last nearly as long as the others. I lived in Vice City for months. I beat GTAIV about two weeks ago and now... there's just nothing left. No zany weapons like the chainsaw to go on a spree with. No steeling crap loads of cars and making a road block then having an awesome battle with the army; cause the cops will be on you after the 2nd car, tops, and the army never arrives. :(Ninja-Hippo

You can lay partial blame on the more realistic approach. No one would carry something like a chainsaw on the streets, people have cell phones so they can call the police (By the way, I usually get around 3-4 cars before I'm wanted.), and the army wouldn't hunt a single person down unless there's a lot of people that have to go down with that person, so it's left to SWAT teams (N.O.O.S.E. was it?).

I pre-ordered and received the beta/disc, which can be found in my blog, so I guess I'm buying it. ;)

I've been bagging it since I bought it, honestly, I didn't have a high opinion of it going in, due to the overhype, but, a real 10/10 game would have changed my opinion, it didn't, it simply made me go apathetic towards it.

Before you say it, I've enjoyed many overhyped things that I didn't think I would before. MANY.

It's the first GTA game that i've played that can't hold my attention. I don't know why, but it just isn't.

I've stopped at about 60% 2 weeks ago, and haven't even cared enough to touch it since.

I agree with what he said to a certain extent. Why bother finishing all of the side missions...20 races, 10 drug deals, 30 cars delivered via text..etc , if you really would reap no benefit from it.

Not only there's the option for you to get 100% there's achievements you could do, things like you wouldn't normally do like popping a wheelie for 300 yards, getting 3 strikes in a row in bowling, getting the highest score in Quebed, flying your helicopter under all the major bridges, making your car barrel roll 5 times in one crash, etc. There's no reason for somebody that got the PS3 version to try to do those things, you're left with less substance making it meh.

It's funny, I have done all of that just out of boredom on my own :P, Ops.. not Quebed, believe it or not, I haven't even played it once :|

I guess I don't have the achievement to show my mad car crashing skills

I dunno about you, but i cant do a damned thing in GTA4 without there being cops on me. And i hate the new system of having to drive outside of a cicle. In vice city if you hid down an alley quickly before anyone saw you, you'd be fine. In GTAIV you have to get outside of the arbitrary circle, so any creative means of getting away is just gone.

They ruined the 360 achievements by making it impossible to get them all. Kill a rockstar developer in multiplayer? What are the odds of that happening? Yay, there goes my GTA completion score...

In all honesty, none of those sound like fun :?

And i don't see how not having acheivements makes the game "meh"

yup...this game is still awesome.

And this is coming from someone who has never been all that fond of the GTA series before. But they fixed up alot of things. Namely the aiming system. It's a huuuuge improvement over the past GTA's

That being said I don't think this game is perfect by any stretch. There are a couple of frustrating missions and glitches here and there. But it's still a 9.5 in my book.

Everytime I play GTAIV I get amazed by something, but they only happen when I take my time and look. Earlier today I parked in some suburban housing area, and watched as some random guy driven up a driveway, and the garage opened to let him in as if he lived there, he then got out of the car, walked down the path and made a call from his cell phone and then proceeded to go about his business.

I got the six star achievement as well earlier, but while I was going about it, I went through a rough neighbourhood only to witness as cops that were orignally intending to apprehend or kill me came under fire by spooked citizens, vigilantes and gang members; they then engaged each other instead of me.

These kind of things just make me really appreciate how well made the game is. There was something utterly awesome about a small group of eastern European imigrants (other than Niko) that decided that they were a bigger force than the two cops in that car.

Random civillians might actually be packing a shotgun, or micro uzi, it's just great that Niko isn't as unstoppable as the other main characters in the other games. Infact I was actually dragged out of my car and shot off one of these said people packing a stubby shotgun for firing at a petrol station with a machine gun. A small mob of people actually approached my car and one killed me with a 12 guage lol. It's just amazing to witness these lifelike occurances. GTA provides an experience like no other.

I still love it.

Some of the unfixed issues from previous games pissed me off (wtf is wrong with having checkpoints during missions?), the controls/combat can feel a tad wonky, and the amount of content/options when compared to San Andreas is quite meager, but I feel that it overcomes these problems to stand proudly as a fantastic game; the best in this series to date, and one of the best games thus far in this generation.

GTAIV is a great game but nowhere near a 10 sorry guys. The reviewers are falling more victim to hype than the supposed fanboys lately.
