GTTV Crysis 2 footage might be from PC version.

[QUOTE="designer-"][QUOTE="AdrianWerner"]I can tell you for sure (well...99,9% sure ;) ) that it's 360 version. I've been to EA events and they've shown Crysis 2 on 360 there, exactly the same level and sequences and it looked exactly like thatSapSacPrime

Why is this post being ignored?

Because it isn't contreversial enough for system wars :??

Right, Speculation weighs way more than facts on this forum.

I doubt it was from the PC, besides the tank like control it looked like the frame-rate was strictly locked in 30 fps -like in most decently programed console games.

"The GTTV footage is definitely from the PC version.

A screen capture from the footage shows a double tearing artifact, which happens when the frame buffer is being rendered faster than the refresh rate.

In this case, I assume that the video was being captured at 60hz and by look of the artifact (the size mid section is less than half of the whole picture) the game is being rendered at over 120hz"

Reason why this can't be console version above ^^

If you're expecting everybody else to take that as some kind of definitive proof, you're barking up the wrong tree.

People, People take it easy. It's believable that this is the PC version. Why? Because a the computer that can run this at full doesn't exist yet.

Yeah, and since MazingerDUDE has been right so many times before its probably PC, on low settings maybe.

Last time, many of the crysis gameplay videos in reviews and such were on medium. So yeah i belive that he might be right.

i dont understand why crytek would display the pc version on low settings.

Perhaps becaue the console version was not good enough to show it isntead and they decided to lower the pc version quality for a more steady framerate presentantion and resolution sharpness.

Wait a second weren't cows saying how "average" the trailer looked yesterday and now they are hoping it's the PC version. If it REALLY was "average" then why would it matter if it was 360 or PC version.

It could be running on PC with console settings if only to get better framerate and recording quality. I don't think that's how the PC version maxed out will look like since the original imo looked better.

I honestly don't see Crytek knowingly show off their first gameplay footage on PC with anything less than the highest settings possible. I highly doubt that was PC.

People can be really naive, I obviously don't know for sure if it is PC or not, but it could be PC with a controller and as you guys should know, PC has adjustable settings, it doesn't mean it was max settings on PC does it?...

And really, the footage isn't even all that good looking, I've seen plenty of console games that look as good or better, KZ2 and UC2 for example.

This is probably PC version with console version settings, rendered in >120FPS.

Why would they do that? It's counter productive to their business.. they are trying to sell this off as a multiplatform engine with amazing visuals and simple tools, showing a downgraded pc version and passing it off as 360 doesn't seem very likely...

It ain't that hard to believe it could be PC version, you take the game put it on lower settings, take an xbox 360 controller and there you go, you could fool people with that... anyways wait and see, imo I think it is console version but you never now for sure.

It could be the PS3 version for all we know, but i agree with some of the posters here that question why Crytek would want to show the game on lower settings than its capable of achieving on PC. Surely if anyone has PC's capable of running C2 on max settings it'd be the people developing it.

Its not like they said "yo this is the console version", so why would they need to pass off the PC version on low settings as the console version?

Some of you 360 fans are so deseparate to compete with the Trey that you ignore all logic, all of a sudden PC gaming only works at max settings, and every piece of Crysis 2 footage is from the 360 unless explicitly stated otherwise rofl. I'm not even saying it is or isn't, but I am leaving those doors open and not jumping to ridiculous conclusions.

Damage control. If they show the pc version and show how good it looks, they mostly advertizing the pc version and making everyone go for he pc version. However the problem is that they afraid of piracy and want to promote the console versions they spend so much cash on.

That doesn't make much sense. The first two being PC exclusive didn't make console gamers suddenly buy PCs to play the game or anything.. so I doubt they have PC capable of doing it now. If anything they would advertise the console versions.

Then why you think they have not shown pc footage yet? it is clear they want to promote the console versons. Makes perfect sense. Infact crysis 2 on pc will have taken alot of impact from its multiplatform nature and it wil be a bit consolized and dumb down just like every multiplatform game. The creator said that there will be no diffirence in the gameplay in all 3 versions, just that the pc version will have better graphics. So expect crysis 2 on pc to play just like the recently gameplay video you saw.

No more desparate than using exclusives made from engine built from the ground up for only the PS3 against exclusives on the 360 that use basically multiplat engines. And then when we get things like RDR being better on the 360 and then you guys say "Bu but teh engines isnt for the PS3zors".

Lame..............

Mestitia

Looks more like you PS3 fans are looking to discredit the possiblity of it being shown on the 360 to protect your preciouses.

Rofl how so? The original GTTV thread was full of sheep, cows and hermits saying the footage wasn't even all that impressive, and tons of lems screaming graphics king 360 pwns, cows owned... Now we hear this is probably the PC version and lems are in major damage control rofl. So I repeat how so?

If i recall correctly there was mainly you stomping around saying it was really unimpressive, a few other cows joined you. I've just read page 1-5 now and i counted a small handful of people saying they weren't to impressed, and most of them were cows [and a few hermits who were expecting pc gameplay] way to damage control bro.

I doubt it was the PC version of Crysis 2 in the presentation. It looks so downgraded that Crytek even showed the first Crysis running on Medium settings to make a fair comparison between both games.

Its only cows here on GS that are calling it anything other than great looking. Especially yourself, in fact you seem downright offended by the game.

All your "rofl" and "damage control" shows how threatened you are by all the C2 game talk, its funny to watch.

No I have seen people other than cows say its a little underwhelming.

True but usually in referrence to how it would look on PC.

No more desparate than using exclusives made from engine built from the ground up for only the PS3 against exclusives on the 360 that use basically multiplat engines. And then when we get things like RDR being better on the 360 and then you guys say "Bu but teh engines isnt for the PS3zors".

Lame..............

Now this is DC, you think that games like Fable 2, Halo 3/ODST/Reach, Alan Wake and Rare games (Banjo, Viva Pinata) are using multiplatform engines, not designed for 360? LOL. Almost every 360 exclusive have engine designed for this console, strengths and weaknesses.

That was actually Gametrailer's Crysis review footage they threw in there. I doubt Crytek had anything to do with that.

Thanks. Most multiplats are demo-ed on the 360, and this really doesn't look like PC graphics. Crytek know better than to make C2 look worse than the first game on PC. Therefore I think it's the 360 version.

For a console multiplat I don't think it looks that bad, tbh. You can't expect a console game (even C2) to look as good as a PC game like Crysis running on max settings. The PC version will look much better than the original, but not the console versions. That's expected.

Rofl wow Damage control on another level, then why don't 360 EXCLUSIVES look anywhere near PS3 exclusives? What's your excuse?

Seriously, that can't be the PC version.
