So... forgive my noobyness... What is the reason to wait for the 1080ti? It's not the fastest... is it going to be less than a THOUSAND omg where do my kids keep their savings dollars?
@Blabadon:
Huh. So it's like one of those Quadro/Tesla cards? Meant for video editing and rendering 3D porn mostly?
I was waiting for this card. I may get this as an upgrade to my Titan X, but that's a big "may". I only run a 1080p monitor, at the moment, and it knocks any game out of the park on ultra at that resolution, so I feel as this would only be a waste of money until I stepped it up to a 4k monitor or something.
I'm guessing a $899 price in the US. The Pascal Titan X in $1,200 and the GTX 1080 starts around $649. $899 would be a good middle ground. Then again I could see Nvidia putting a $999 pricetag on it too.
I knew I should have waited :P....I bet this thing will be around $800+ though
I even already knew the 1080ti was in development ever since both 1080/1070 launch but that GPU wasn't even on my radar anyways, I love my GTX 1070 and don't plan on even upgrading till for the next 3/4 years.
Real 4K gaming at 60fps ever closer to becoming a reality on PC. Every PC gamer will brag about it and 0.0000001% of them will actually have it lol.

Yeah my 1080 will be good for about that long as well.....it has to be :P
I would get one of these but there has to be some game I cant Max out using the gtx 1080 and from the looks of it the gtx1080 will be perfectly fine until the end of the year. I would like to say that I would upgrade just for Mass effect andromeda but that game looks pretty boring. **** ea, **** sjws, **** politically correct sissys

There's nothing you can't run maxxed out in 1440p with that card at 60fps and a lot of things in 4K too. All these people claiming to be playing everything in 4K are full of it and probably go straight back to LoL or WoW after lying on the internet.
12GB's of VRAM is boner inducing, but the price tag is boner reducing. The card alone with be at least 2x the cost of a Pro or Scorpio.
and about twice the performance.......remember AMD tflops do not equal Nvidia tflops. But I still hear you
@blueinheaven: Since getting the card I went back to all my installed games to see them in 4K and to see how they run. The results have been awesome. Even a new game like BF1 ( beta ) I was able to play @ 4K and average around 50 FPS
Unravel in 4K was a sight to behold.

That's the beauty of a significant upgrade, going back to everything and seeing how much better it looks/performs.
It's a fantastic card you'll love it for a long time to come.
@blueinheaven: Still 0.0000001% more than console gamers.
So what? I mean really, so what?
@GoldenElementXL: Why not? My Titan just arrived today. I figured it would be useless to wait for the 1080ti because for one, we already know it's not gonna be faster than the Titan and we're going to actually see worse performance than what we have already seen with the Titan. If I already saw one card hit 98fps in a particular game, why would I wait for a card that's going to do 80fps? Price? Not this time.
Another reason to buy the Titan is because of the price to performance ratio. This will NOT be like the 980ti and the last gen Titan. This time, the amount of VRAM between the regular 1080 and the Titan are so close that I'm predicting a 1080ti price tag of $999.99.
A 1080ti will have to either have 10GB (which would be redundant by only being 2GB less) or match the 12GB of the Titan (which they kind of did). In either case, the amount of VRAM would bring their prices so close together that spending an extra $200 on a Titan X for 15 or maybe even 20 more frames per second would seem very attractive and sensible to most, especially for the hardcore gamer. Last gen the Ti and Titan were separated by $500. This time, it'll only be $200. Just get a Titan.

Thats an argument similar to about 4-5 years ago when people talked about 1080P and now 1080P is ancient tech not even worth mentioning. Obviously 4k is rather new and market penetration will take time but whats important the tech is there and sooner rather than later it will be a mainstream feature similar to where 1080P is now. At the moment, most PC gamers don't really see the urgency to get 4k and are happy with 1080P and 1440P. I don't but that will probably change next year.

Given the specs above, its just like the Titan X original and the 980Ti. The Ti model has the higher clock speed but lacks a few CUDA cores.
