So much for the PS4 being a super beast machine that can do 1080p with 60fps with ease and it being a standard.

People will learn to develop better on the thing you know... see Uncharted vs Uncharted 3... or COD2 vs Halo 4/Killzone 3.Source in the NeoGAF link.

For online I would too but for singleplayer it doesn't matter too much since it's not really a super fast paced game.I'd prefer 720p60 over 1080p30.Â
psymon100
Who expected it to be 60fps? It can obviously do 1080p 60fps, but some devs would rather make it 30fps and fit in more effects.

They wouldn't do that.
The difference between the two would be massive.

[QUOTE="psymon100"]This. I thought the PS4 was going to be able to do 1080p & 120fps. The way Cows were talking about how much more powerful it was then a PC, is should be able to do this with ease. What's going on?I'd prefer 720p60 over 1080p30.Â

Just some cow hyperbole.Â
I'm sure PS4 is going to be a capable gaming machine, but I doubt it would cost more than two dollars of PC to best one dollar of PS4 in terms of visuals.Â

i doubt it will have much better visuals than the x1 as well. Â Â
[QUOTE="blackace"]I thought the PS4 was going to be able to do 1080p & 120fps. ZevianderThe PS3 was going to be capable of dual 1080p @ 120fps in 4D... and we got ~720p @ 20-30fps. The only reliable way to get 1080p@60fps or better is to buy a PC.
dual hdmi mind you.. lol
It is always amazing to me that so many people still don't understand that frame rates are down to developer choice not hardware limitations. Helpful hint: Many Dreamcast games ran at 60fps. JamDev
I agree and disagree with what you're saying. I'd say it like this:
The hardware has limitations. The devs must work within those limitations. Devs can make choices for example sacrifice shadow quality or effects for higher frame rates.Â
Short answer: the Ps4's power isn't being used yet. The following analysis explains it in detail
http://www.redgamingtech.com/killzone-shadow-fall-demo-post-mortem/
- only using 5 operation threads
- only using 4.5 gb of memory
- alpha build deliberatedly locked to 30 fps
for these reasons, the current killzone shadowfall demo is by no means an indication of the PS4's capabilities or shadowfall as a finished product.
Its using pc architecture and hardware making it easier to develop games and still not capable of dishing out 60fps/1080p :x

Interesting read. Surprised they're not using compute at all though. That's really strange. :/Short answer: the Ps4's power isn't being used yet. The following analysis explains it in detail

Wait, a launch title isn't going to look as good as future titles? MIND BLOWNÂ :o
And here I thought Resistance: Fall of Man was the best looking PS3 game. :P
Yeah I hope we don't get the same shit as this gen where games end up running at like 20FPS by the end. That was horrible.Meh. So long as 30fps is the minimum, I'm happy.
