So you would rather have a cash shop with game changing items for sale?Guild Wars 2. Any developer thinking that a monthly fee has future in the world of the MMOs will have a hard awakening in the next 12 months...

I guess you picked GW2 cause you have Charr in your sig.
I should have put a smiley at the end of my post. Yeah, I'm going for GW2.

It's a good thing guild wars 2, much like guild wars 1, will have only cosmetic items (costumes, appearance change/gender change, etc) in their cash shop.
[QUOTE="Arach666"][QUOTE="BrunoBRS"] nope. still nothing.BrunoBRSYeah,I thought as much. well their release date is "when it's ready so stop asking it", but considering how few they have left to unveil about the game, we shouldn't be far from a beta.
Closed beta later this year for sure. Depending on the results from the closed, they'll move to open.
Hope everything goes smoothly.

So buying a PVP access kit isn't game changing? Lets see, it unlocks ALL skills for a specific campaign for your PVP characters.[QUOTE="wootasifwoot"][QUOTE="Steameffekt"] So you would rather have a cash shop with game changing items for sale?Steameffekt

And gw2 isn't offering a seperate pve and pvp experience like it did in gw1.
this year? doubt it. we're too close to the end and they still have at least one cIass to reveal and probably some more crap.[QUOTE="Steameffekt"] So buying a PVP access kit isn't game changing? Lets see, it unlocks ALL skills for a specific campaign for your PVP characters. it's cheaper than buying the full game to get them. PvP characters can only be used in PvP, so they already have the whole skill list to pick and already start on max level.Closed beta later this year for sure. They've said that in every recent interview they've had. Closed beta, 100%, before the end of this year.
As for the last profession, they said they are gonna release it after all the gameshows are done. The last one (paris gameshow) is ending in Oct. 25th. So it could be anytime after that.
They said the closed betas are gonna be tested out inhouse and by family and friends. There aren't any registrations for it, as far as I know. But if you want to be ready for their open beta then you should sign up for their newletter on the official gw2 site.

Anyway the occidental bussiness model for the MMOs is a hesit, no onbe in Asia pays 13 $/€ at moth for playing the game. I think that most of weatern players did notice this and are tired of supporting the whole system with his wallets. Hard times for the economy + the big rise of the "free to play, pay for extras" asian model is in snowball mode: just can't be stopped.
the good one. the one who isn't a copypaste of WoW. ... ... ... do i really have to spell it out? yes, i'm staying the hell away from the old republic and enjoying the first original MMO since 2005.BrunoBRS
This.
[QUOTE="mattuk69"][QUOTE="Merex760"]Both, but I'm more excited for The Old Repuclic. Growing tired of fantasy MMOs. BrunoBRSAye!!!! Star Wars is not fantasy? come on, you know what he meant :P
lol. medieval/fantasy is my favorite setting :). I love Zelda, Diablo, and so on. It's definitely how I roll 8). Haha, but in the end, its all good if done right. Mass Effect, Perfect Dark 64, and more make me love the futuristic/space setting.
This unlike most game a vs game b arguments is a no brainer and not worth comparison because 1 - both games look really good, and 2 - Since Guild Wars 2 is free to play you can play both games and only pay 1 monthly fee. So the whole thing isnt worth the time to argue about. And although I agree that GW2 does look better, I have played the SWTOR beta and can say that everyone is going to be pleasantly surprised with its quality, itss damn good and surpassed my expectations.
Guild Wars 2 is better as an MMo and thats a fact. The only reason people are buying TOR is because it's star wars, I admit I was going to get it that for that reason. None of the mechanics or pretty much ANYTHING in TOR looks interesting

I felt just as strongly before I got into the SWTOR beta and played for a significant amount of time. Unlike most everyone else in there I was not a fanboy with blinders on, I was actually expecting to be letdown but was shocked at the graphical, and gameplay quality. Like I said before since GW2 is free to play we can play both games for 1 montly fee so theres no point in picking one or the other when we can have both.
GW2 doesn't do anything new either. Only reason people are so hyped for it is because it's F2P.Guild Wars 2 is better as an MMo and thats a fact.
