Lmao, you haven't played this game, no matter what you say.
Half-Life 2 never felt like a cohesive gameplay experience to me. Instead of offering a great action experience from end to end, it felt like every new level was just trying to show off something new about the Source engine. It was like random collection of gameplay segments, tied together by a flimsy story. And as much as some people would like to believe, the story is flimsy, because it takes place almost entirely in backstory, or away from what the character is doing in the actual gameplay of the game.
Half-Life 2's graphics were always more of an artistic achievement than a technical one. They weren't even the best graphics of 2004. I mean it was released several months after Doom 3, which had technically superior graphics to Half-Life 2.
