I really don't know why are you comparing Halo 2 to Halo 3 if you don't even know how Halo 2 looked like, it really is a shame how uninformed are some people. You really think that Halo 2 looked like that, well thenshame on you.

The picture of Halo 2 oyu post is from the first gameplay demonstration which didn't run on Xbox but on some dev machines and looked way better then the game it self.

First of all that isn't a real picture of Halo 2. That was a pretty much a target render. This is really what Halo 2 looks like in game.

As you can see, huge difference between the in-game Halo 3 picture and the in-game Halo 2 picture.
