Halo 3- 6 new maps, TU2, 750 achievement points tommorrow + new SI post now!

Just thought id throw that out. The title update with feature new specific rankings, a bunch of behind the scenes tweaks, and few other things.

750 achievement points

6 new maps:

Assembly (video)

Orbital (aka space camp, moonbase alpha)

Longshore (rumor of a headlong or relic remake or a fan inspired level*)

Heretic (no info)

Citadel (no info)

Sandbox (the map maker)

----> the bots are not part of the update, just the end. Well, they could, but there's no confirmation.

each of the mp levels have a skull (something normally exclusive to campaign levels)

-----> the maps are free.

* on the longshore fan inspired thing. This is what I mean. That part is speculation, but as i said, a rumor circulating on bungie.net. bungie listens to their fans and seeing as how that was a detailed plan for a map done with some 3d models, was around a long enough time, and has 75 pages, it's possible. dont take this part too seriously though. But if it is, remember two bases, a river in the middle, and man cannons on either side. (that's the basis- saying last resort is a beach, sanwall, wheel, fort)

well Standoff is free, as if Rat's Nest, Foundry, and Cold Storage. Avalanche, Blackout, and Ghost Town are $4 (well to some- points now cost 100 points/ $1- so it matters at what price you bought your points, if not $5). They'll be free eventually too id assume (maybe tomorrow? Probably wishfull thinking)

as i said, all of gears's maps are free and only 3/13 maps will cost money tomorrow for halo, and that's $4.

the update is confirmed for the 23rd, well known. No doubt about that.

The achievement list confirms that there a 6 new maps each with a skull. The sanbox map proves itself in the achievements because sandbox is the only one not to have a matchmaking achievement and sanbox is what bungie.net calls forge with custom settings. The maps being free is proven by the fact that it says "do such in such on a mythic map on any ranked playlist"- maps that cost money are in dlc, not ranked.

Only some achievements will be available tomorrow. None of the mythic map ones.

Wrong good sir... Team Swat has Black out and that costs money... If everyone in the game has the new maps they may show up in ranked playlists...

Not for me... My disc drive on the 360 stopped working and They want $100 bucks because its not a RRoD... I'm trying to get my Console to have RRoD right now so I don't have to pay M$ for something thats there fault... Its only happenening because my 360 has the Disc Drive they put in after the Toshiba ones and there known for this to happen to them... Its bull that this is not free because its another one of microsofts Screw ups...

while i obviously understand why you say that, i do follow bungie closely (they're very interesting and actually are involved with the community) and they have said that they're giving us some reallyneat stuff around the 1 year annivesery of halo too.

I've tried that and a few things like it... When they switched out there disc drive it must have made room for better heat sinks... I'm sure it will die soon enough... I'll just keep trying things... they attemted to solve one problem, but they created a new one... To bad they wont pay for there trash disc drives...

The acheivments name each new map, and call them mythic maps.

you realize that both Valve and Blizzard have done this since the 90's.....Blizzard's and Valve's community support is far, far beyond Bungie's....they have never...not once charged for DLC.

I don't think its great for Halo 3 players... I'm a Halo 3 player and I not going to get any of it because my POS XFLOP's Disc Drive died on me...

Wow...this looks like a really special update. I can't wait for it. I've been playing Halo a lot lately anyway, so this just makes it better.

All popular games should get this type of treatment. (Gears I'm looking at you!)
