[QUOTE="killab2oo5"]Hehe...kind of self-"owned" seeing as how Halo 3 was last at 8.1mill...and its still selling.killab2oo5

Read the post right about you (or the previous few pages), and you will see the fault of that post. You really shouldn't just blindly state numbers and attach the word "sold" to it. Not a smart thing to do. You should also read the whole thread (or at least the last couple pages).

Eh,I'll go by Nintendo/Micrcosoft/Sony numbers instead of VGChartz. ^_^ You use them if you wish,I wont. Also,I never said 8.1 million were sold...but retailers are ordering them (because Microsoft is SHIPPING them) so people must be buying them. I assume its close enough to 8.1 million by now. Anywhos...sales of each game don't really matter that much too me. Both are good and deserves the sales,I know both are receiving the sales that they deserve,so I'm happy.

depends on what "close means." If "close" means "within 2 million" then yes, Halo 3 is "close" to 8.1 million. It's more likely a little below 7 million.

He is going by NPD and Media Create (Don't know how to get sold numbers from Europe, but NPD and Media Create (I Think that is what it is called) are the most reliable and most Accurate source to find out how many consoles and games have been sold in those two regions.

Can people not read?

Read the previous few pages.

It's absolutely sick how many people there are on SW who just don't take the time to really know their stuff. If you're going to spew something as if it's true fr everyone to see, at least be fairly certain that you're right, and then, if you're wrong, have the courtesy to admit it.

Shipped is quite a different thing from sold. It's going to get to 8.1 eventually, but it's not there yet.

Haha, and they just keep coming in. SOLD is different than SHIPPED. Read the previous few pages of this thread if you want to know more. Otherwise, just stop saying Halo 3 has "sold" 8 million, because it hasn't.... not yet

vg chartz, but the figure cant be that far off given the wii's popularity and the fact galaxy is tracking far ahead of sunshinethe_h_bomb

The VGChartz software figures were way, way off. Just see for yourself. They were like 30-40% off the mark for December software sale figures.

Super Mario Galaxy is the Wii biggest title to date really. Think about it. The original Super Mario Bros sold over 40 million copies. Even Mario 64 sold over 8 million copies. So I'm sure Super Mario Galaxy will sell at least that many if not more during it's life on the Wii.

I don't really care how much each has sold so far but SMG is still sold out in most places since christmas(UK) so it looks like it has alot of life left in it.

And vgchartz makes the necessary corrections every time conflicting data is released. That's the way vgchartz operates. They even explained that in this link. Hardware numbers are MUCH easier to estimate, and they actually did a better job of that than I was expecting. Again, they are GUIDELINES, not to be accepted as hard fact, but fairly close, and then they make the necessary corrections, keeping up to date pretty well.
