Halo 3 tops weekly software sales charts... in Japan!

Pretty impressive isn't it? Microsoft's Halo 3 has managed to top the latest weekly Japanese sales charts as it sold a massive 59,000 units in one week beating off competition from Pokemon and Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII on the PSP.

I have always felt that shooters have been lacking from the last Duke Nukem or Doom 2 games. I miss the 100% completes at the end of levels the hidden areas that took you forever to find. And most of all to many new shooters have way to many checkpoints my son when he was 7 years old beat Halo and so has most of the boys in his third grade class.

I rather have good RPGs over shooters any day of the week.

Ehhh, the Halo sales numbers really aren't that big of a deal. Here's the 3 really interesting things that this sales chart shows.

1. No Wii games in the top 10.

2. 3 PSP games and 1 PS3 game in the top 10 (nice week Sony)

3. Core Crisis sales dropped to 1/10th of what they were on the first week. So either every FF fan got the game already, or word of mouth about the quality of the game is getting out now.

It in its first week beat a game in its like 6th week barely way to be proud.

The early reviews I've seen have been markedly different. I'll wait for official reviews, but I have a feeling it's not nearly GOTY quality for the PSP, let alone all handhelds.
