HALO 3 have the best lighting in this Gen

the HDR is EPIC

Overdone bloom doesn't constitute great lighting.

Even S.T.A.L.K.E.R. has better lighting/shadowing than Halo 3.

you forgot to say "lack of". there is no denying that halo3's lighting is great, some of the best, and gives it an awesome alieny-scifi feel to the game.

The lighting is good because Bungie used two (forget the name) 640p thingies. They did it for the lighting.SSCyborg

Frame buffers you mean? The lighting was decent, though all that use of the bloom effect was simply unnecessary.

lol bloom lighting when is the last time you went outside and seen the leeves and houses have radeoative light coming off of it.

just like oblivion hdr lighting sometimes is not good. the caracters faces looked like glow worms.

Why does everyone complain about the bloom? It's only noticably overused for metallic objects, which should be really shiny if there is a lot of light.

Why give credit? It is a major exclusive and has bad graphics. Halo 3 has more jagged edges then a chainsaw.

Third of all, I wish you the best, my friend, when your personal hygiene and actual life go out the window when you are trying to get a level 20 in your game by beating other games. I try to find some fun in video games and I think that these trophies are going one step too far. I pity the cow that cannot take a step back, look at how devoted they are to a trphey system and be satisfied with their life. If you are one who has enough time to continue an RPG in an RPG, so be it, but I personally have more to live for than a level that will be irrelevant in 5 years.

overdone how, last I checked a half decently bright light source bouncing off metal was fairly blinding.

Im not arguing Stalker which is a freaking awesome looking game. But honestly, Halo 3 has some of the best lighting on a console as of now...and id rate it top 10 on any platform.

and it was already shown, but it shows the awesome lighting...

It looks nice, but its nothing drop dead amazing. The Lighting is what stops Halo 3s visuals from being average.
