I would like to say that I love the fact that M$ has Halo 3 advertised to be able to run at 1080p on the back of the box. How awesome is it that it isn't even HD running at 640p. More the "extra enhanced tv". I think the halo series isn't that great to begin with but it shows how bad consumers really are with believing hype and ads if you think this game is the end all be all of games. Enjoy your non HD "next gen" Halo 2.5, which now is even closer to the truth.

I thought the graphics were beautiful. It's one of the best looking games I've seen in a while. I love the overall art style and I'm willing to argue it has the best lighting system in a game to date.

You need to check again. The lowest resolution recognized by the ATSC as HD is 1280x720.

Technically you are correct, but it's the defintion that is pretty much universal.
it seems as though cows have run out of ideas when it comes to Halo bashing. and the sad part about this is that no one would ever know if they didn't say anything. they underestimated the stupidity of fanboys that blow these little things out of proportion. anyway, hd or not, Halo 3 is definitely one of the better looking games out this year and worthy of its score.
