Sure it'll keep selling - it's got all the hype. But in reality TF2 is the better multiplayer shooter IMO by some distance, atleast if you're over the age of 8. It's campaign is weak, especially if you take the first two Halo games out the picture. It's hardly worth keeping around as a graphical showcase either. What's the point in keeping it?Herbs84
This makes it obsolete because?

Mine too
Havent player TF2 yet, but im not playing Halo3 either. I already beat the Single player and i was dissapointed, but now im just waiting for people to mature a lil on the online part of the game. Due to the massive hype, alot of new players jumped into Halo and now its hard to find a half decent game :(

Both games are for 360.

So it's obselete because you don't like it?

Because as everyone knows, the long term fun to be had from shooters in through the MP - and TF2 already has Halo3 licked.
TF2, 6 maps each with individual modes that are minor mutations of typical modes, but has the Source SDK....I think.
Halo 3, many more maps with the Forge and near unlimited game types.
Hmmm, I wonder....

You left out an, "IMO" that time...
Um...lol? I still played Halo 2 up until 2 weeks ago, campaign SP. Halo 2 is still in the top 7 or so of XBL games. Halo 3 isn't going anywhere soon, Bungie has promised tons of downloadable content upcoming.

Jesus H. Christ of course it's my opinion, I typed it didn't I?
Yeah, lol.for something to be obsolete, owuldnt that mean it has been outclassed in every way and should no longer be used?
Doesnt the fact that halo 3 will continue to destroy TF2 in sales completely void your arguement?

9.5
But in reality TF2 is better in your opinion? You could have worded that differently.
I like Halo3 better then TF2. I returned by Orange Box preorder after playing enough of TF2. Partially in protest of Black Box being axed.
doesn't only have 6 maps and 4 different match types...... taht game ahs mulitple games becasue there not that intreging by themselves, but together its worth it.

more = better???? Have you played TF2 because those 6 maps end up playing like 20, and with all the different classes, the game has way more depth to it than most would assume due to the only 6 maps. Nobody can talk until they have played both games, and I have. IMO TF2(PC) kills Halo 3. TF2 on the PC is literally the most chaotic and fun game I have ever played and there are already several new User-created maps. Plus, Valve already said they have 5more maps that will be released within the next couple of months.
I do own both The Orange Box and Halo 3, haven't gotten around to playing The Orange Box yet but Halo 3 still has its multiplayer, which offers alot of replayability.
I honestly don't expect Halo 3 multiplayer to put up stats like Halo 2 did. Right now there is The Orange Box, next month is Call of Duty 4, not sure about December but next year there is also Unreal Tournament III.

wow...obsolete eh? The game is putting up monster XBOXlive numbers. Do people not think before they post?
A game sets record sales numbers, record internet numbers...and you are suggesting it's become obsolete after about 2 weeks?
Good luck with life.

Well you are trying to argue that Halo3 is obsolete based off of your opinion of TF2 being better. That kind of makesthis whole post pretty ridiculous.

I think thats mainly due to the limitations of forge and the lack of experience among console games in terms of making maps. TF2(PC) already hasseveral user created maps that are great.... Thats cause people have been messing with the Source SDK for ages, and they have loads of experience making great maps. Give it time and people will figure out Forge though. Although, IMO Forge wasn't as fun as it had sounded... Wasn't quite executed as well as I had hoped. Didn't get the same feel that Garry's Mod did IMO.
Urgh, some of you are unbelievable....can't handle any tiny little bit of criticsm of your precious Halo. What's wrong with a little debate? That is what forums are for.Herbs84I don't think it's the Halo criticism that's bothering people, Halo fans are used to that. I think it's the notion of the series that almost singlehandedly gave life to MS consoles being "forgotten" for a 6-map, 4-game type experience. I mean for the 2 months preceding the Halo 3 launch, Halo 2 was topping XBL. Now that's anticipation.

yeah, but saying halo 3's multiplayer is obsolite already....thats not much of a debate topic, to be honest

I agree, Forge was overhyped. I expected something more substantial, but then again when you consider that it's basically the first map editor ever for a console game, it's not bad at all. I'm much more impressed with Halo 3's saved films feature, and the technology behind that (like the awesome detachable camera). It's impressive stuff even by PC standards.

Criticism that calls Halo3 obsolete simply because you like TF2 better is something that will put you in the line of fire for being outlandish.
It's a terrible argument.

Good luck with life? Mate, you're the one who's going to need it. Statistics aren't everything. Just because a certain music artist has lots of no.1's does not mean they will be remembered well, if at all. Again, TF2 has Halo3's MP licked - its more tactical and there are less idiots and squeakers playing. Maybe you should be a politician, they're good at spouting off stats to prove points while proving nothing.

You're not looking for debate, you just don't like Halo. Your first post made that obvious, so why the hell you even play it to begin with is beyond me. My guess is you're one of those kinds of people that don't like Halo just for what it is, a wildly successful game.

There have been plenty of console map editors for console games already.
What??? Even Tony Hawk 2 for PS1 had a map editor...I agree, Forge was overhyped. While not PC-fleshed-out, map editors have been on consoles for some time. Forge is more of a gametype/editor hybrid anyway. On Bungie's website and in the game itself, it's known as a gametype.

Statistics are worth a hell of a lot more than your biased opinion. You can't argue against statistics, all you can do is make up TERRIBLE comparisons to music artists that just comes off as pathetic. Long before Halo 3 was released you had it made up in your mind that it was going to be overrated along with the rest of the series...so don't honestly sit here right now and try to convince people that you gave this game an honest try.
And what exactly have you proven in this thread? All you've done is stated your biased opinion multiple times....YOU JUST DID IT AGAIN. Perhaps you believe that TF2 has Halo 3's MP "licked", but millions of people disagree and your opinion is in no way shape or form more valuable than any of theirs. Have you proven anything? No.
Again, good luck with life.

Halo has been obsolete for quite a while, it's only now with the orange box shoved in their faces that lemmings are starting to realize this.
