Well I have not played Halo 3 online due to some problems but have recently completed Halo 3 campaign.I ve completed it with my brother that is why I enjoyed it.But I think playing alone is not quite fun. Halo 3 has following Lacks
1) No bosses??? That aint fun 2) Some boring missions (2nd one little bit and 2nd last one(It was too boring) 3) And Not proper ending of a trilogy
2) in co-op they are awesome all of'em and well the 1st mission was the mission i thought was the worest. on heroic they are all a challenge and awesome when in SP.
3) i agree to that there should have been abigger bang regarding MC, but i liked what happened on earth.
I'd give it a 9.0 because the story itself was pretty good and it was an epic ending to an epic triology. Also the 4 player Co-Op helps it from getting boring.
I gave it an 8. There were some very memorable scenes in the game and some action packed ones, but a lot of back tracking and a poor ending to the trilogy didn't allow it to get a 9. Besides, when has Halo been about its single player campaign? Two was.....not amazing.
The game was fun in co-op, but not so much alone. The story wasn't that engaging either and I think some of the maps had a poor artistic design. But I had fun playing it. 8/10.
I would rate the singleplayer at about an 8. For finishing the fight, the game was pretty lackluster. Coop helps and I've played through the campaign a few times, but I wasn't the biggest fan of the ending and there weren't enough large scale battles.
It's the only FPS campaign I truly enjoyed thus far this gen. Crysis was too Sandbox-ish for me. CoD4's campaign was just boring to me. Didn't even finish it. If you count portal as an FPS than yeah I enjoyed that one as well. Any other I can't think of right now.
Its one heck of an improvement over the Halo 2 campaign. Its has larger open environments, better vehicle sections, bosses (scarabs), cutscenes are very well done and the story doesnt focus on covenant politic crap which ruined the second one imo. Also theres the metascoring and 4 player co-op which makes it all the better.

what episode 1 was the worst, but still a quality shooter

I really liked the ending with the Stalkers though. And the Rocket Launch was amazing.

HL2 : EP2 ????? I don't like HL. I played halfway through the first one and just didn't wanna finish. I rented orange box for 360 and the only game I booted was Portal. So granted I didn't play HL EP 2 it's cause I didn't care much for EP 1.
8.5 for me the SP is rocksolid but it didnt last long enough for me.
I probably played 200 hours or more Halo:CE on co-op with my friend and never got tierd of it. Halo3 did not last nearly that long. but 8.5 is still good, it has some memorable moments and also some crap levels.

Scarabs are bosses. But don't get me started abou Spark.
Saying it has no bosses is almost very wrong. Try playing with some skulls on and then tell me the bruteChieftainsare not bosses...
The Vehicle sections were the best in the series, the warthog run section at the end was fanservice pure and simple, meaning I loved it. Best single player of the series.
16 people voted 7.5 for a game that's far superior campaign wise to almost all FPS on any console beside the 360. Funny that.
Anywho it's a 9. It was more halo combat evolved and less halo 2, wasn't as good as CE but the co-op, hidden goodys for the long term players, fantastic ending and all round halo fans wetdream fest made it worthwhile. Guarenteed the ones that gave it a 7.5 either haven't played it, haven't played more than 3 levels or are just ignorant PC fanboys who think if it doesn't have a keyboard it blows.
Your loss chumps, it's not all that bad, not the best but certainly not bad.
Compared to other stories this gen (COD4, Bioshock, STALKER) it just wasn't on that level. It wsn't terrible but not memorable like CE or infuriating like Halo 2
I'd give it a 9 on its own. One of the better FPS campaigns I've played through. I'd rate the campaign even higher if I based the score on its coop also, that made the campain even better.

i wanted more after the credits other then him in the covenant galaxy...
if i could rate it lower than 7.5 i would have. really boring, unimaginative, lame campaign compared to the first two games. i mean come on, in every other level there was some form of backtracking through the whole leve.
What is with the need for bosses, I've always found that odd?
You do have them sort of with the hammer guys and the various vehicles.

I enjoyed the boss fights in Halo 2. I found them to be unique and fun.
The scarab battles in Halo 3 were fun as well, but I wish they added other types of boss fights in the game like actually fighting Prophet of Truth and the Brutes or Gravemind.
8 i really enjoyed it for the most part but the ending was horrible. halo 2 and 3 aren't half the game that the original was however. that game is in my top 5 games of all time list and i still play it to this day :P
