The singleplayer was average.
There is a HUGE array of problems.
The multi is great though.

I didn't find the single player terrible. Better than 2's but not as good as ce's imo.astiop
Same opinion here. Halo:CE's campaign was godly. Halo2's was just utterly horrible in comparison. Halo3 being not better than a 6 year old game is frankly pathetic. Halo:CE is a better game to date so I'm not sure why people would accept less years later.
And the multiplayer is damned good but still has many flaws and limitations....... could easily love or hate it.
Many lemmings are saying that the 'Cortana' level is one of the worst levels of any game, ever. That's only because the Flood can be irritating to combat. Well they're supposed to be, I like the Cortana level, best looking level graphically imo.
Other than that, people seem to be enjoying Halo 3.

i found the level design in SP uninspired, especially towards the end, almost like they were rushed. the overmind or whatever that monster you are inside reminded me of DMC3. also levels didnt seem as big and wide open as they were in halo 2, or maybe the vehicle portions were smaller. it was like "lets just throw a **** load of flood at you from the sky and you run through it k?"
MP is great tho, the veto thing and all that doesnt make sense to me, its like random games or what? why not just set up servers...

DMC3 came out after Halo 2, which is when the Gravemind was introduced.
:? Levels didn't seem as open as Halo 2? How long has it been since you played Halo 2?
 People, this is a PRIME EXAMPLE of passing opinions off as fact.
Halo 3 SP = WIN in my book.

I loved it too. Great on your own, awesome in co-op.
Wait..... so all i've seen in this thread is people saying that the Single Player is great, and the multiplayer sucks,...
and yet when Yatzee tore apart Halo 3's single player and said in his review "Like some people, I don't give a flying **** about multiplayer" he got crucified by people saying things like "the multiplayer is the best part!". So which is it? is the MP or the SP better? because i'm hella-confused now.
Try saying the SP is lame after playing it on heroic, also yes the multiplayer is quite good.Ultra-FatalityI beat it on heroic first time, and ive gone back to it on legendary.
The SP is ok - but if I compare it to how it was hyped - mediocre.
Multiplayer is defitnaly where the crux of the game is at.
some ppl liked the mp... some ppl the SP.... some ppl liked both.....Wait..... so all i've seen in this thread is people saying that the Single Player is great, and the multiplayer sucks,...

Oh and TC you are right about MP visuals methinks - I immediately noticed that MP visuals were much more solid and nicer, than the SP visuals, which could go from nice, to down right awful.
Multiplayer methinks.Wait..... so all i've seen in this thread is people saying that the Single Player is great, and the multiplayer sucks,...

Hell Halo 3 feels like the MP is the crux of the game, and the singleplayer is kinda on the side.... MP feels alot more polished, and all the features seem to prove it so. SP however really is what Yatzee says it is - average (imo) - and he isnt the only review to say so - by far.
Heck playing Episode 2 then Halo 3 really makes that apparent.
Even playing World in Conflict singleplayer pretty much made Halo 3s SP weaknesses stand out so badly.
Im not trying to rip into the game, I genuinely felt let down by SP - and in comparison to other FPSs out there it seems to be lacking.
And I say this, yet I keep going back to certain SP levels to play again - which I must say, there are some levels which really shine in comparison to the rest of the SP campaign. Co-op also improves the experience dramatically.

I think its kinda funny that ppl will cheery pick reviews they agree with.... and when did Yatzee become such a respected reviewer...[QUOTE="skrat_01"][QUOTE="Madsucktion"]Multiplayer methinks.Wait..... so all i've seen in this thread is people saying that the Single Player is great, and the multiplayer sucks,...

As for Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw, he IS a respectable reviewer.
If you knew about him you would know that he isnt spouting dribble.

His adventure games are also damn amazing.
As an avid Halo 2 player for about 8 months. I have to strongly disagree with you. The multiplayer is much slower paced in Halo 3, and more importantly much more balanced than Halo 2. The new features and weapons are just icing on the cake. They basically just added features to the multiplayer and left everything else the same.
Using the Halo name as a selling point was a great move for them.

I found multiplayer to be rather dull. It's still somewhat entertaining, but I get a sense of "been there, done that" with nothing really new or interesting, not to mention it doesn't seem nearly as polished as Gears or R6V.
I think the best multiplayer experience this year has to go to Team Fortress 2, though I've been playing it on the PC version and don't know how well it translates to the 360, I can imagine it still shares most of the awesomeness.
You guys are on crack or something Halo is a terrible game, it's basically the same **** over and over since halo 1. nothing interesting about it the game is way way way overrated. It's bull**** it takes three full clips to kill one person. Once you get a kill they respawn and you do it again O HOW FUN!! LOL game is lame as ****
LET THE FLAMING BEGIN !!!!!!!!!!!! LOL
I wouldn't call it terrible. More like average but it did have its moments and it's tons of fun with friends and the metagame.
Multiplayer is great though. The maps would of been better though and the melee is messed up.
