Halo 3 vs. GOW3 vs. Ninja Gaiden 2 vs. MGS4 etc. Worst next gen leap?

Whoever came up with the expression "If it ain't broke don't fix it" can eat a fat............... I want innovation and I want my $60 worth($10 more than what I paid for your last installment into the series). With these series they start to show their age with next gen technology and I don't know if it's lazy devs who know the consumer will buy there product no matter what crap they release or what.

Halo 3 = Halo 2 with new multiplayer maps and vaseline

GOW3 = GOW2 with a few new attacks, weapons and baby oil

Ninja Gaiden 2 = NG with more gore, blood and new weapons, nothing more

MGS4 = MGS3 with more cutscenes and better wall textures

GTA4 = GTA3 with better physics and a cover system. How the hell do you take all the features that made Vice City and San Andreas so fun and leave it out of your next gen counterpart? Your supposed to add to the already solid formula not take away from it. Lazy devs didn't even set a new location for the game.

Anyways pick which next gen installment took a major poop on the series.

DMC4 was by far the worsed downgrade from DMC3

the TC has pretty high standards, he/she wants a reset in every sequel !!!!!!!!!!

Ninja Gaiden 2 to me.

Definitely Ninja Gaiden 2 for me, the leap in quality of the games was sort diminish with the next generation leap for me. What made the first so great is still present in Ninja Gaiden 2 but the rest just didn't lived up to the game expectation. The graphic was one of the strong point for Ninja Gaiden, but we see little improvement in Ninja Gaiden 2 especially with the game surrounding. The artificial intelligent is also cheap this time around.

I guess Ninja Gaiden, the rest were huge leaps both visualy and gameplay wise.

God of War 3 any day.. From what I have seen and played of the demo its EXACTLY like the first two with polished new graphics.. Furthermore I am some what surprised that Halo 3 is that high up.. Sure its graphics arn't as amazing, but the numerous next gen features for multiplayer was amazing.. Like being able to play with 4 people, using 4 different xbl accounts online against others.. sSubZerOo

I dunno why but the GOW3 in baby oil made me lolz. I'd say Halo 3 was one of the worst next gen leaps imo, nothing new on the campaign and the multiplayer was horrible compared to Halo 2 through my experience.

MGS$ and Halo 3 shouldn't be on the list. I never played GOW3 but i say its ninja gaiden 2 because they basically just sold us a beta for NG2 sigma on PS3. I'm still royally pissed off about the lack of quality and polish in that game, especially when compared to the perfection of NG1. pis3rch

Halo 3 is a pathetic excuse for a third installment and personally I don't see why Bungie was allowed to continue making games after Halo 2. The campaign is completely uninspiring. Voice acting was good though.

My pick would be Ninja Gaiden 2 because it felt like a step backwards for the series. Ninja Gaiden: Black was more fun, had great graphics for its time and had bigger differences between the difficulty settings.

Yeah, its gameplay is the same working formula still it has received good improvements every new sequel. Graphics wise i think Halo3 is one of the most underhyped games this gen. The game actually looks great and for some reason here on sw everyone claims it looks like crap :?

Halo 3. Didn't feel like much of a step up from the previous entry.

This is a contest of which game was more of the same. Tough choice, It's between Halo 3, and God of War 3 as being the most similar to their prequel. In fact, a lot of sequels this gen were more of the same, hence, I find it stupid when one complains about a game being more of the same. Killzone 2 is pretty much the only game I can think of as not being more of the same. It's prequel was complete garbage.

All of them. Halo 1 and 2 are better than Halo 3 in even the MP, Ninja Gaiden was the best game on the Xbox 1 and then 360 kill it with that horrid NG 2, MGS 3 is the best MGS game since the Playstation 1 masterpiece and MG4 was a waste of time as in not even close. RE4 better than RE5, R&C PS2 better than R&C PS3, and the future wont be any different: GOW 1 and 2 > GOW 3, FFXII > FFXIII. Only Nintendo got it right with the Wii since TP is better than the boring Wind Waker, Metroid Prime 3 was better than the last two and Super Mario Galaxy is beyond better than Sunshine. So in conclusion: PS2 > PS3, Xbox > Xbox 360, and Wii > Gamecube.

Baby oil? Anyway, I have to go with NG2. The gameplay is still excellent, but it suffers from technical issues and a lame story.killerfist
