So, recently there's been the discussion that Halo is simply a casual game designed for casual gamers.

There's also been claims that MW2 is a much more 'core' game.

But what does SW think?

Is Halo a casual game?

Is MW2 a casual game?

It was being discussed in the Halo Reach coming to PC thread, and I felt it was cluttering too much of the actual topic.

The discussion was if Halo was Casual or not... SOmeone said MW2 was Casual but Halo wasn't... Your poll doesn't really reflect that discusion. And we already know every Halo Fanboy will vote in Halo's favor no matter what.. And by the looks of it SW is FULL of them... I fyou don't think Halo is casual friendly your simply wrong and a small internet minority.

no point in making thread responses, TC.

but Halo takes more skill by miles. most people choosing 2nd/3rd are probably trying to sabotage the poll. good luck to them.

That is an awesome picture Raymundo :P But having experience with both (lots), I'd say Halo easily. The problem with MW2 is, that it's a case of first person to see another gets a kill - which then results in multiple killstreaks which completely unbalance the game. Halo imo relies more on player movement and aim (rather than holding the trigger down). I like how Halo felt different as I went up in skill level. And although I'd consider myself an average Halo 3 player, I was completely awed by how good some guys were I played with in an MLG customs match - I've never felt something like that in MW2.

You should be modded for lieing... Halo does not take more skill then MW2, it's takes different skill. MW2 is reflexes, precision, timing. Halo is accuracy and team work... You Halo fans are form another planet...

just like every anti-Halo person will vote the other two options, and there's probably more of those people.

casual friendly? I wouldn't say that, but it appeals to every crowd. and it does it 'right'

it's at least a step above that, because casuals will be punished by the game. more-so than MW2.

Bla bla bla killstreaks... Play barebones then... Halo has various playllists so does MW2.. So many double standards it hurts my brain.

You said that it's much easier to spot a pro in MW2 than Halo 3, so it's obviously related to the poll. Saying that would indicate that MW2 had a higher skill curve.

I never said casual was bad. Halo fanboys assumed that and fought against the label even though it a widely accepted lable for the halo franchise. That's all there is to it. Defensive fans...

Well you have to take into account MW2 is a game with a lot more kills, you cna't tell me "it's easier to get a kill in MW2 then in Halo so Halo is more skilled"... It doesn't work like that. A pro in MW2 does get 10 or 20 kills, they completly tear the other team a new one, they're able to spawn trap by themselves... It's very easy to spot a pro in MW2...

So why is the Halo series used by professional game tournaments, whilst (to my knowledge) MW2 isn't?

lol. how should I respond?

this is from personal experience, are you telling me I'm lying about my time spent playing both games? I'm not going to give you a biography on my experiences, but Halo was a more punishing game, and I'm nowhere close to having it mastered in any way, shape or form.

besides, I'm not saying it takes the most skill of any game(Shadowrun wins this, on consoles:D). it just takes A LOT more of everything compared to MW2;)

Easy to pick up and play, easy to play casually, art style and themed for all ages, auto aim, simple mechanics, simple rules straightforward gameplay that's easy to understand etc... Easy for newcommers to get into to, get the ropes of it all... If Halo isn't casual friendly neither is MW2. MW2 is a much more daunting experience, there is a lot more to "do" in that game, diferent guns, perks classes and setups... And noobs spend the whole game dead. But Imo MW2 is also casual, but les then Halo. So to claim MW2 is casual and Halo is not is delusional imo.

I don't agree with that definition of casual. Casual to me is something you play on a phone like bowling or Brickles.

Halo 3 is WAY better than Modern Warfare 2 in my opinion. Also it seems that all the 8 year olds have migrated from H3 to MW2, so its pretty safe to play now.

connotations differ, and in the wondeful world of system wars, you never know what something might mean to another person.

I agree with your statement, but I stand by Halo taking more skill and it being a more punishing game, core vs. casual(the original topic, I'm not going to sift through the thread this is a response to). it doesn't cater to the casual crowd in ways that anyone can be good at it right off the bat.

that's what I can describe MW2 as....because I had no trouble mastering it and it was the first COD game I've ever owned/played. I'm stating my opinions based on my experiences, just not seeing how I'm a liar for doing so:?

Not sure if you're actually being serious tbh. I know it doesn't hold much weight, but Halo is played by professional leagues - is MW2? And MW2 being more daunting? It's a simple run and gun, twitch shooter. Please play Halo in a ranked playlist and tell me it's not daunting.

I never play social... THeres nothing to learn in Halo besides the maps.. stop kidding yourselves, Halo is as simple and straightforward as a shooter can be. It's easily the most casualized shooter out of all the big guns this gen. It's also always been widely accepted until my little thread. But that's just defensive fans. In a week in some other thread you'll all agree.

You didn't answer my point about professional leagues, etc. And I'm honestly tempted to not even bother replying anymore, because I have a feeling that you're joking.
