Halo 3 walking into KillZone

And the ONLY video of Killzone is a fake CG render. The last game flopped hard. Halo 3 has nothing to prove, Killzone has everything to prove and live up to and because of that no matter how good Killzone 2 looks, it will NEVER be up to par to that CG video which will hurt Sony's image imho.

I'm sure Halo 3 will look way better in the end with the final textures. Maybe Killzone will look better than Halo 3. Make me wonder why they haven't even shown the game yet. Must be something special they are waiting for the right time. By the time it releases it will have been in development for about 3 years.

 Well I own both and I'm looking foward to them the same. I'm sure Sony is putting alot of money into KZ2 for a reason since they bought Gureilla games. No one buys a company that doesnt have potential. All of Sony's gaming studios are top notch.

lmao :lol: I love this blind argument, you do realise Killzone was hyped by the media and that's when the PS2 fans started hyping it so technically it's both of their faults and the reason why Killzone 1 was so bad was because hte PS2 hardware had limits and Guerilla was not owned by Sony so they didn't have as much time, or budget or even dev team to build a so called "Halo Killer." Now Guerilla has been bought by Sony and they produced a great game with Killzone Liberation and they have an even bigger dev team working on Killzone 2, more money thanks to Sony, knowledge of the hardware thanks to Sony, more time considering they have been working on this game for atleast 2 years or so and better hardware let's see how it turns out this July...

The PS2's hardware wasn't the only reason Killzone sucked. It's ture, they tried to pull things out of the PS2 that just wasn't there and the game's visuals and performance suffered because of it. But that's not the only reason. It's gameplay was also stale, unoriginal and bland, especially compared to Halo and Halo 2.

Killzone 2 has a LOT to live up to if it's even going to think of competing with Halo 3.

firstly, me and my friends loved killzone 1 on splitscreen. my mate evn bought it a second time. i though the gameplay bought something new. in my view it was kind of slow like you were actually running and this made it more human. halo gameplay is more fast paced. so u cant compare the two..... i also belive that since killzone has been in development for so long,and with its new buget( check it out, big money) it has to be a great game.

Um, yeah, trade in your 360 over a PS3 game that we haven't seen a single frame of gameplay from yet!  Good call :lol:  I think you should have titled this thread "Killzone2 walks into Halo3", that would have been more accurate.  Remember how the first Killzone was supposed to be a "Halo Killer"?  We all know how that went, (FLOP).  And here it is a good 6 years later & there STILL isn't a "Halo-killer" on any other console.  Ownage approved!!!!:o

I think someone needs to peek at the awards and technical achievements the Halo series has racked up and compare it to the KillZone series.  Then rethink that statement.

I can't help but laugh everytime i see that sig picture :D

Resistance has a better chance then killzone at taking the console fps title from halo, but halo can't be killed imo because its already become a classic in the gaming industry.

I did word my response badly using unbased claims. I am completely aware that Bungie's track record eclipses that of guerrilla. However, no matter how good a series is or how great a developer is that doesnt garauntee that they will make a good game. Halo 3 will get good sales, it could be the worst follow up ever and hordes of casuals would still flock to stores to buy it. However, saying that Halo is going to definitely be good and a realistic contender for GOTY is not a sure thing. Predictions are fine, but stating them as fact makes you look like a pretentious ass.

I think Killzone is the best shooter for the PS2 and Killzone2 will probably the same for the PS3. I hope Killzone 2 is way better then the first, and I liked the first mind you, bought it twice

it's still unproven.  Games just don't jump from medicore to halo-status between releases.  Halo's not running into killzone, killzone is running into halo.

agreed, but I think it can live up to that, especially since they've shown that their better with Killzone Liberation and this is PS3 so it only makes sense that they could do more on the PS3 than on PSP or PS2 and they have more experience, money and time so I don't see why they can't live up to the hype. I don't like how people are dubbing it the "Halo Killer" because nothing will technically kill Halo, but if Killzone does live up to the hype rather than be a Halo Killer it should be a FPS setter.
