halo 3's graphics, waht od you think?

is it me or do they kind of, you know, suck. and yes I do have a flame shield. I have been looking at the videos and they are nothing special, they don't really look that much better than pdz or kameo, borderline with fear. it just doesn't look great, not nearly as good as gears. It will still be a good game, but i think bungie really blew it graphics wise. and don't pull any of that art-style crap, because halo 1 and 2 were trying to be as realistic as posible.

and this is not against halo, I own a 360 and love it and am not a microsoft hater (xbox wise)

Oh please.  Everything we've seen of Crysis has been pre-alpha, and its beyond top-notch.

You mean like how the screens for Heavenly Sword are beyond top notch? Some devs focus on the visuals first maybe. I mean, I don't want to excuse this Halo 2 Vista rip-off but look at Forza. Before the new screens everyone was bashing it and how it looks last-gen. Quite impressive of what can be done in a month for the visuals.

I never thought Forza 2 looked bad personally, but you have a point.  I'm not saying that there's no chance Halo 3 will look good, I'm just saying its not much of an excuse to say a game is still in alpha stages.

I do not care how much the graphics improve, it still looks like just a rather generic shooter from what I have seen. Looks like Halo 2 in a different enviroment is all. I am wondering if they called that particular map they were testing on "Last Resort" because they are fresh out of ideas. (joking)

Kidding aside, I think that it will probably turn out alright though, but it is definitely not a game that is high on my wanted list at all. Too many other shooters out there that I think SMOKE Halo nowadays. Plenty more to come as well. 

Halo 1 was great when it released, but Halo seems generic as hell to me these days. Not to mention that it is just flat out a "trend" game. To each their own though of course.

Please, Crytek doesn't hold a candle to what Bungie has done.

graphics wise, not in gameplay, they wanted the game to be as close to reality as possible, not cartoony, there was no real art style except try to be realistic

I dont have the cash for that kind of tech. 

To the people saying Halo 3 has no excuse because Crysis is in Alpha:
All you will need to play Halo 3 is $300 at full settings.
You will need atleast $1000 to play Crysis at Full settings.

My point is that it makes no sence to compare a game that uses technology that is a practically a generation above whats used in Consoles.

I didnt read all the posts. Somebody tell me, did the fanboys come in saying more alphas than a pilot.

Anyways, its on par to what I thought it would look like. Its nothing superduper spectacular, but it doesnt have to be. Its Halo, all its needs is to be released, there could be no game in the case and it would still sell 1.43 million copies.

Are you serious?? It isnt the best looking next gen title BECAUSE IT ISNT FINISHED YET!!!! It still has 5-6 months dev time left
