Halo 4 outpacing COMBINED Black Ops 2 preorders, COD dying?

Nope. Halo4 just has more dedicated fans. Black Ops will outsell it by 300% though. Even on 360 alone Black Ops 2 will outsell Halo 4 by a large margin.

Except Trials Evo, Minecraft, The Witcher 2, Fez, Spelunky, Akai Katana, Sine Mora, Skyrim´s Dawnguard, and soon Deadlight, Dust Elysian Tail, Happy Wars, Forza Horizon, etc. Not to talk about all multiplats also available on PS3, like Mass Effect 3, Max Payne 3, and so on.

To be honest, those numbers are pretty impressive, considering the amount of options 360 owners have had latelly!

Looking forward to all the new halo kids getting mind f***ed then purchasing cod

funny, you'd have said the same thing about ace combat last gen, but 360 got an exclusive the PS3 did not AC6. the only ace combat game on PS3 (AC:AH) sucks balls. mass effect started on 360, turned into one of the biggest franchises this gen. bioshock, another day one on 360 (one year later on ps3). assassins creed, day one 360. Gears, complete trilogy only on 360, one of the best selling franchises again.PS infamous and resistance are unlikely to appear on any machine next gen so...sts106mat

I think CoD is finally going to slow down. MW3 left a bad taste in everybody's mouth and the competition from EA's FPSs like BF3 and Medal of Honor has greatly increased.

This year they have to contend against Halo 4, Far Cry 3, Crysis 3, and Medal of Honor Warfighter as well as continued support for Battlefield 3 and new F2P FPSs like Firefall and Planetside 2.

The market is beign saturated with some fantastic FPSs. CoD will always be the go-to for a lot of gamers, but people do tire of the same thing after awhile. MW3 was a giant kick in the balls to a lot of the really dedicated CoD fanbase too.

Halo 3, Halo 3 ODST, and Halo Reach are the only Halo games this gen worth getting excited about if you aren't a real big Halo fan. Each of them had a lot of vast differences in the gameplay from the last one. The differences between CoDs have been far less, especially in the terms of gameplay. The gameplay is almost 100% identical every revision. This is because the fans expect that, not because the developers are lazy. However fans are getting a little tired of the same old crap. A lot of people were really disappointed with MW3.
